Once upon a time, there was a 1in the restaurant, who had many lives. Each day, she would wake up and2wait her turn to be prepared by the cooks before they were served to the customers. She would do everything possible to make herself really3while being eaten. But with the customer's final bite, she would feel like the lights had4and she had simply fallen asleep. The next day all would repeat.
The little hamburger wanted to quietly5this way for many years. But one day, she heard one of the customers say she was "junk food". And this made her sad! From then on, she found that many people used that6name about her and her sisters. And after listening closely to the radio about junk food, she accepted the fact: it was7 , and she was "junk food".
Now she8why most of her favourite customers were now much 9 than before, and why they didn't look so well. The hamburger felt bad, so she tried to find some way to change that name.
Then she got an idea. The hamburger told all her sisters not to have any flavor (味道) whenever they were with a customer that visited too often, but to be even more delicious only when the customer10came.
In this way they began to see fewer unhealthy-looking faces, and many of their old friends started looking much better.
And these hamburgers became much more popular from then on, because more people think it's nicer to taste something after a while of not having had it.
At the age of ten, I hated a girl. She liked to point out my shortcomings (缺点). Week by week, her list grew: I was very thin; I wasn't a good student; I talked too much; I was lazy and so on. Finally, I became very angry. I cried and ran to my father.
After listening to me, he asked, "Are the things she said true or not? Lyn, do you ever think what you're really like? Well, you now have that girl's opinion. Go and make a list of everything she said and see what are true."
I did as he told me. To my great surprise, I found that half the things were true. I couldn't change some of them (like being very thin), but I could change most of them. Suddenly, I wanted to change.
I showed the list to Dad. He didn't take it. "That's just for you," he said, "You know better than anyone else the truth (真相) about yourself. But you have to learn to listen. When something said about you is true, you'll find it will be helpful to you. Listen to them all, but hear the truth and do what you know. It is the right thing to do."
Dad's advice has came to my mind at many important moments. In my life, I've never had a better piece of advice than this one.
Taking care of pets can be a great way to teach children responsibility, but it's important to be realistic (现实的). If you're keen on bringing an animal into your home and you've designed a plan for its proper care, here are some choices.
FISH
Firsttime owners should consider getting coldwater fish as no tank (鱼缸) heater is required. They should research what kinds of fish get along in the same tank, and be aware of life expectancy-some goldfish can live up to 20 years.
RABBITS
Though rabbits, or nickname bunnies, may seem like a lovely choice, they can live up to ten years and require an amount of care similar to that of a dog or cat. They have their special diet needs, and often don't behave well around small children. Each year, quite a lot of Easter bunnies become homeless when families feel tired of them.
GUINEAPIGS (豚鼠,荷兰猪)
These small animals are ideal starter pets. Their cages must be cleaned daily, and they require toys to keep their ever growing teeth in check. Once they're used to the new way of life, guinea pigs need daily exercise in a small room without cracks or holes for escape. They don't want to be alone, but if you get two, make sure they're the same sex or they'll have babies.
BIRDS
Fond of a fixed timetable, birds require feeding at the same time each day. Cages should be cleaned daily and disinfected (消毒) weekly. Birds clean themselves by bathing in dishes of water and grow in cages big enough to spread their wings and fly a short time.

Once, there was a forest where all the animals lived happily together. One day, a family went to spend the day in the forest, and the son left his socks there. After the family left, a bear came by, found the socks, and decided to try them on. They fit so well, and he liked them so much that he wouldn't take them off.
All the animals talked about the bear's new look. Soon, in that forest, there began appearing squirrels in shirts, rabbits in shoes, and even rats (老鼠) wearing hats! The forest doctor shook his head, telling animals, "This can't be good. Animals don't need clothes!" But no one listened to him. They said he was just out of fashion.
However, it wasn't long before the first results of fashionfever came. Several times, the squirrel caught his shirt on trees, stopping him in midjump and sending him falling to the ground from a tree. The rat couldn't go into his hole without taking off his hat first. Even the bear, because of his socks, slipped(滑到) from the river rock and almost killed himself.
When the animals came to see the doctor, he gave them all the same advice, "Take off those clothes before one day they're going to kill you." Those who listened to the doctor's advice stopped having accidents. And the animals realized that they didn't need clothes at all. Starting to wear them had been very dangerous, and they had only done it to make others admire them, and to get attention.

(help) a child feel better in school has to be careful. If a boy is having trouble (make) friends, the teacher can help him. The teacher can arrange(安排) things
that he has chances to use his abilities to do things for class. This is how the other children learn how to value his good (quality) and to like him. A teacher can also raise a child's popularity in the group by showing that he (value) that child. For example, let him be a partner with a very popular child in activities, etc.
There are things that parents can do at home, too. Be friendly when your child brings others home to play.you plan trips, picnics, movies and other shows, invite another child with whom your child wants to be friends.
