Mr. Black is a doctor. He works in a big hospital. It's far away from his home to the hospital. He often comes back home late and often forgets(忘记) his family's birthday. But last Saturday afternoon after doing his work, he suddenly remembered(记起) it was his wife's (妻子的) birthday. Soon on his way home, he went into a flower shop to buy some beautiful flowers. Mr. Black got home and gave his wife the flowers and said to her," Happy birthday to you!" Mrs. Black saw these beautiful flowers, laughing and saying. " My birthday is on the twentieth of May, not today, but thank you for giving my birthday present(礼物)."
Long long ago, there was a poor(贫穷的) man. He had an orange tree. On the tree, there were many fine oranges. One of them was very big. It was as big as(像……一样) a ball. Nobody saw so big an orange. The poor man was very happy. He gave it to the King(国王). The King was so glad that he gave the man a lot of money for it.
When a rich(富有的)man heard of it, he said to himself," It was only an orange. Why did the King give so much money for him? I would take my gold(金的)cup to the King. He would give me more money."
The next day when the King got the gold cup, he said to the rich man, "What a beautiful cup! I would show you something wonderful. This big orange is for you."
