May 20, 2021 Dear Principal, I think the students in our school should wear uniforms. Many schools already have them. Uniforms will help our families save money, since we would have to buy only one or two uniforms for the whole year. Uniforms could also give us more pride in our school. And best of all, if we all wore uniforms, kids wouldn't tease each other about their clothes. I know some students think uniforms are ugly and uncomfortable. But maybe we can pick a uniform that everyone likes. I think this is a wonderful idea for our school. Sincerely, Justin Jones |
If you've tried and have not won, Never stop for crying; All that's great and good is done Just by patient trying. Though young birds, in flying, fall, Still their wings grow stronger; And the next time they can keep Up a little longer. |
Though the strong tree has known Many blows of stormy winds, She has risen again, and grown Higher and prouder. If by easy work you beat, Who the more will prize you? Gaining success from defeat- That's the test that tries you! |

The more you read, the more things you know. The more you learn, the more places you'll go. Reading is important everyone. China has of public libraries in cities, towns and even borrow books, and it costs to borrow them. In some places, you may borrow as books as you want, but in others you are limited to a certain number of books for several weeks so that you can have enough time to finish all the books you've borrowed.
The latest novels are always in great need, and non-fiction books, books on history, science and gardening, are well-loved, too.
If the books you need are out, you may ask for them to be kept for you when they . And when the books are back and are for you, the librarian will let you know.
Most public libraries also have a reading-room. There are tables and desks at which you can sit and read the newspapers and all the other important periodicals (the weeklies, the monthlies and the quarterlies). In the reference library, there dictionaries, encyclopedias, books of maps and other useful books. But you can use these books there. You cannot take them out.
Helping Hally
Sam was sitting on the couch, watching television. His mom walked into the room with Hally, their dog.
Mom said, "①have, we, Hally, help, to (. ) "
"Help her how?" asked Sam.
"Do you remember when we went to pick up Hally from her litter? We picked her because she looked like her mom. She is brown with spots, with long ears, and she was energetic, so we thought she'd be strong, like her mom. But how does she look now?" Mom asked.
"Well," thought Sam, "She's still brown with spots and long ears, but she's not very energetic or strong anymore."
"That's what the vet said, too. We haven't been letting her exercise as much, and we've been feeding her a lot. She would probably look just like her mom now if we had walked her more. ② We have to start walking her more often. And then she'll stay healthy for a long time. Will you help?"
"Sure!" said Sam. He decided that he could play fetch with her every day in the yard, because then she could run and run and run until she was tired.
The first day, they only played fetch for about 10 minutes before Hally was tired. But Sam kept playing with her every day. Soon, they could play for an entire half an hour! Hally looked stronger every day, just like her mom. Sam felt great about helping Hally get strong again.
