Banff National Park, Canada*s first national park, is filled with wonderful scenery provided by the Canadian Rockies, valleys, forests and plentiful wildlife. The park is popular with people. Here is an overview of the most popular attractions in Banff National Park:
Johnston Canyon
The main activity at Johnston Canyon is to hike to the Lower Falls, Upper Falls and Ink Pots. Getting to the Upper Falls includes a 2. 7-kilometer hike that starts from behind the Johnston Canyon Resort. This path is considered one of the busiest in the Canadian Rockies, because hundreds of tourists like making the 45-minute hike every day.
Banff Gondola
Travelers want to make sure they have plenty of memory cards before they board Banff Gondola. That's because the views from the four-passenger gondola cars (空中缆车) are fantastic . Once at the top, visitors can take the skywalk to get to a historic site and meteorological station (气象站) .Banff Gondola is closed in winter. But there are also hiking paths to the top.
Banff Upper Hot Springs
Banff Upper Hot Springs is a perfect place to relax after a day on the hiking or ski ways. Visitors have been coming to this Banff attraction since the 1880s to bath in the therapeutic (治疗的) mineral waters, though First Nations were doing that long before the railroad opened up this part of Canada.
Peyto Lake
Considered one of the prettiest lakes in the world, Peyto Lake is best seen from Bow Summit on the parkway, about 39 km from Lake Louise. It takes travelers about 15 minutes to walk to an observation platform to overlook the lake.
Get your vaccine shot
The COVID-19 virus is still spreading around the world. It hangs over all of us. But some good news about vaccines (疫苗) for COVID-19 is bringing us closer to ending this terrible pandemic.
On Dec 8, the UK rolled out (推出) a vaccine made by Pfizer and BioNTech. The US started its own COVID-19 vaccine rollout nationwide on Dec 14, Xinhua reported.
China will start vaccinating high-risk groups over the winter, Zeng Yixin, deputy head of the National Health Commission (NHC, 国家卫生健康委员会), said at a press conference on Dec 19.
This means that those who work in the cold-chain industry, healthcare, customs (海关), seafood markets and public transportation are among those who will receive the vaccine first. Their work puts them at higher risk of being infected (感染).
This is the first step in China's COVID-19 vaccination plan, Zeng said. As more vaccines are approved (批准) and produced, elderly people, people with underlying conditions (基础疾病) and the general public will receive vaccines in an orderly manner.
China's COVID-19 vaccines can offer effective protection for at least six months, Zeng pointed out. Vaccination experiments have shown that the vaccines are safe and effective.
As for those who are not among the first to receive vaccines, officials at the NHC said there's no need to worry. "Wearing masks in public places, practicing social distance and washing hands are protective measures that have been proven to be very effective," said Cui Gang, a senior NHC official.
The staff of the Kennedy School Newsletter has been working hard on another survey. This time we asked students what kinds of toppings they liked on their pizza. We did our survey during lunchtime, so students wouldn't get too hungry answering our question. And this time we were able to ask more than 450 students to take our survey. That's almost all the students at our school!
For our survey, we let students pick their three favorite toppings. Some students only choose one or two toppings. That was OK, too.
Here's what we discovered from our survey. The two most popular things to put on pizza are pepperoni(意大利辣肠) and extra cheese. That isn't so surprising. When we order pizza here in the Newsletter office, those are the kinds of pizza we always get!
An unexpected result of this survey is that lots of people like fruit on their pizza. 288 students said they liked to put pineapple on their pizza. If you haven't tried pineapple on your pizza, you should. Lots of people think it's delicious!
We hope you enjoyed taking this survey. We enjoyed your answers. And next time you invite your friends over for pizza, be sure to order an extra large pizza with pepperoni and extra cheese.
That's the one people like the most.

Salik, a 14-yearold boy, has become an overnight online star after a Malaysian visitor to the temples (寺庙) of Angkor in Cambodia posted a video on Facebook of him speaking 10 different languages. The post went viral throughout the country and many parts of Asia, throwing the spotlight on the boy.
Salik is one of many children selling simple gifts to tourists. But Salik has surprised visitors with his ability to talk in many foreign languages. His mostly self-taught skills are amazing. With this unusual talent, he earns more than other children. The money goes directly to his mother, who uses it to support Salik's as well as his brothers' education and the family's daily needs. Their home is just a few hundred meters from the famous temple Ta Prohm, and the family has struggled with debt.
Luckily, Salik's days as a temple seller could now be over. Rich businessmen and charities have promised thousands of dollars, donated new bicycles and toys, and agreed to support Salik's
education until he finishes university. With their support, he has made up his mind to further improve his language skills and general education. His dream is to become a tour guide when he finishes school, a dream close to his home and his heart, so he can travel to new countries.
Salik has that chance now while, sadly, most of the other children around him do not. In Cambodia, there are thousands of children on the streets, many of whom are forced to beg. Their job is to be happy and smiling for the tourists, who feel sad for them and give them money, but that money doesn't go to the children. It goes to the men in control of the children and the begging business. Therefore, the best way to help children in Cambodia, and elsewhere, is ''DON' T BUY FROM CHILDREN", according to Bruce Grant, Cambodia's Chief of Child Protection. He explains that the more a child earns, the more likely it is that he will continue to be forced to work.
How Can I Fight Laziness?
Lazy people will never amount to anything in life. However, laziness can be defeated once a few changes have been made in your mind.
. Many people lack sleep constantly, since they stay up too late and get up too early to prepare for work. These people have little motivation once they arrive home. Laziness works hand in hand with a lack of motivation and a tendency to put off things. By adjusting your sleep schedule to provide a few more hours of meaningful rest, you can fight laziness throughout the day.
Another way to fight laziness is to change your mind from passive to active. Some people treat their lives as if they were pushed from task to task. Others take a more proactive approach, viewing each task as a challenge they must overcome alone.
Some people fight laziness by removing the temptations that surround them. A television in the living room may provide entertainment, but watching too much TV often contributes to laziness. Complete a few tasks and reward yourself with what you enjoy, such as a good dinner or a film.
Laziness can also be a lasting problem at home. Couples and children may all have different energy levels, but laziness can be spread if not dealt with immediately. Be the first to collect and wash dishes after a meal. Others in the home may eventually follow your example and perform their own task. It is difficult to practice laziness when you are surrounded by motivated people.
Enough exercise and a balanced diet can help you to develop a healthy lifestyle, thus enabling you to have more energy and help lift your spirits.
A. To fight family laziness, set an example.
B. Knowing how to fight laziness is important.
C. One way to fight laziness is to get enough sleep.
D. Finally, taking exercise regularly can help you fight laziness.
E. With strong determination, you will be able to achieve your goal.
F. Laziness sets in when you no longer feel in charge of your own life.
G. Create a reward system for yourself, just as parents do for a child.
