Speaking of running, most students say that it is boring just going around and around in the playground. How about running in a different way? The Spartan Race and the marathon are two exciting choices.
The Spartan Race
It is named after the Spartans from old Greece. The Spartans were great soldiers. Their army was very strong about 2,700 years ago. The Spartans were very brave. The race tried to copy the Spartans' life. So it's not about running. It's more like a race for life.
Marathon
It's a 42-kilometre run, usually across the city. It may seem like a wild idea, but more and more Chinese are doing it. According to a 2015 Nielson research report, about one third of China's marathon runners are from Beijing and Shanghai. People there have a busy life,so they worry more about their health.
Dad and I were driving to a store to get some food and drink for a big dinner. My dad's company was going to have an important new customer.
As we drove, we noticed an old man at the side of the road. He had a flat tyre (瘪了的轮胎). Usually, Dad would stop, but this time he didn't. We had to hurry.
About half an hour later, when we were driving back, we saw the old man there again. This time, Dad stopped the car and got out. "Anything I can help?"
"Yes, " said the old man, "I can't get the wheel off. You are the only person who has stopped to offer help. "My dad called me and got out. Soon we had the old wheel off and the new one on. The old man offered to pay us, but Dad refused and we made our way to his company.
Dad was very nervous(紧张的)for he had never met the new customer. Hearing the knock Dad answered the door. Guess what! It was the old man with the flat tyre at the side of the road.
The old man couldn't believe his eyes. He took Dad's hand and said, "You're a man with a kind heart. I'm happy to cooperate with your company. "
Of course, Dad didn't help a stranger to get rewards (报酬). However, it often happens that when we do the right thing, the right thing happens to us.
