Life is like the four seasons.
When I was1, it was the spring of my life. I started going to school and I2 many new things. There were happy days and sad days. Some days3the Sun and some days it didn't.
In my twenties, I had a good job. I was strong and happy. Then I married (结婚) and had a 4 . In those days I didn't have much time to think or to play Every day I was busy and5 hard. I started to get some white hair. The summer of my life passed quickly.

But the days kept getting shorter and colder. Then winter comes. I am older and weaker. I know I do not have many 10left, but I will still enjoy them to the end.
Long long ago, there was a beautiful place with thousands of trees. Around those trees was the home of many lions. Those lions killed other animals and ate them. The bodies of the animals always made the air bad, and many trees thought the place was not fit to live in any more.
One day, two trees were talking. The first tree said, “These lions are polluting our home. We have to save our home from them. Let's drive them away.”
“Yes,” agreed the other tree.
An old tree was listening to them, He said, “They may be polluting the air. But they are keeping us safe. No people are brave enough to come into our home.
But his words did not change the idea of the two trees. They finally did that. That evening, the two trees started shaking very hard. “We will make the lions afraid, so they will leave our home and never come back again,” the two trees said and laughed.
All the other trees joined them. “Don't do that,” shouted the old tree. But the other trees did not listen. They made great noises. “Something horrible is happening. Let's run away,” all the animals said.
The two trees were happy. “Huh! Now we can enjoy some fresh air,” they said. But they were only happy for a few days. One day a man came and started cutting down the trees. “Now I don't need to be afraid of the lions,” he said to himself. Soon there were other people. “Now all of us will die,” said the old tree. “How stupid we are. We should listen to this old tree,” the other trees said sadly. A few minutes later, the two trees were cut down.
Should friends be different or the same? Different people have different ideas. The following is what four of my classmates talk about their friends.
My name is Susan. I am outgoing. I like to have friends who are similar to me. Both my best friend Linda and I like travelling. We went to Italy with our families last summer holiday. We stayed there for two weeks. Next year, we want to go Paris.
My name is Mary. I like to have friends who are different from me. My best friend Betty is shorter and more outgoing than me. I am quiet and I like reading very much. Betty likes sports and she plays ping-pong very well.

The Earth is very important to us. Most of us don't want to pollute it, but we are polluting it by not using the things on Earth correctly (正确地). Here are some easy things you can do to protect the environment (环境) and the Earth. Choose ideas of the following or come up with a few of your own.
● Plant flowers, grass or trees. The plants can make the environment around you become beautiful. Also, more trees and plants can make the air clean.
● Whenever (无论何时) you visit a park or beach, take away what you bring there — keep rubbish in a bag until you can throw it into a dustbin.
● Turn off the tap when you brush your teeth. You can save some water by not letting it run all the time. Also, use a glass cup instead of (代替) a paper cup because this can protect forests.
● Stop putting dirty water into the rivers or lakes. In this way, you can protect plants and fish in the rivers or lakes.
● Ask all your friends to do the same things to help protect the Earth. You don't have to wait for Earth Day to do these things. Make every day Earth Day.
If everyone does something good to protect the Earth, it will become much more beautiful.
We all know the Sun is important. But how does the Sun do that? It's the Sun's energy that makes life live on our planet. Energy from the Sun is called solar energy.People started to use solar energy many years ago. They build houses with windows so that the sunlight can get inside and make them warm.
It has something to do with solar panels(太阳能电池板). Solar panels collect energy from sunlight to make electricity(电).
But what happens when it is cloudy or rainy? Solar panels cannot collect energy from sunlight on cloudy and rainy days. We needn't worry about it because solar panels have batteries (电池) in them to keep electricity.
The Sun makes more energy than people use now. At the same time, solar energy is good for the environment(环境).And we can't use it up. So we should try our best to find more good ways to use it in our life.

F. Harbin is the famous Ice City, and it attracts visitors by the Harbin Ice and Snow Festival. The festival usually begins from January and lasts for over one month. It provides visitors a whole world of ice and snow.
This is a story about true friendship.
It is a (rain) day, and a famous guqin player, Boya, is sitting with his instrument by the riverside on the edge of a forest. Suddenly, he spots woodcutter called Zhong Ziqi in the forest and invites him to come and listen his music.
Boya (play) the guqin and imagines tall, proud mountains. Zhong Ziqi listens
for a short time, and then says, "When you play, I see Mount Tai reaching into the sky! ”Boya is (surprise), but continues to play. Now, he thinks of rushing water. Again, Zhong
