Students learn their lessons in class. In class1teach them. Students sit in the classroom listening to the teacher. This is a way of2. Is this the3way for students to learn something? Of course not. There is4way to learn. Students can teach5. For example, if you can't remember something6you are doing your homework, you can look at your book to find the7. This is a way to teach yourself. And it is not a/an8thing. We can do this at any place and at any time.
How do you teach yourself? The first thing you must do is9. Read something you are10in, or you have to read. The second is that you must ask yourself questions. The question is something you don't11, or you want to know more about. You can write down these questions. A12student is usually good at asking questions. The13you must do is that you must answer the question yourself14thinking hard, by reading the text of other books, and15by asking other people .This is the way of teaching yourself. And you must do this all by yourself. If you keep doing like this for a long time, you are sure to be great in your study.

Linda was Tara's best friend before, but now things are different. Tara is a member of Purple Girls Club and they have some rules about who they can be friends with. Linda isn't very pretty and doesn't wear cool clothes. So she can't be in their club. Now Tara is making a name list for her party, and she decides not to invite Linda.
“Tara, come here,” her mother calls from the living room. Tara goes to her mother and sees the school report card in her hands.
“Tara, what's the matter with you? You have failed(不及格)math and English and you did badly in all of your other subjects. You were such a good student before!”
Tara sees the disappointment(失望) in her mom's eyes. She feels terrible. The activities of Purple Girls Club leave her very little time for studies. The girls get together almost daily for movies, shopping and surfing the Internet. She calls every friend in the club and asks them to help her. But they all refuse(拒绝) and say, “Who cares about studies now?” This makes Tara even sadder.
Later, Tara's mom takes her to Linda's house across the street. Tara says sorry and Linda is glad to have her friend back. She happily helps Tara with her studies.
Tara now has a new rule for friendship and it is that a friend that lends a helping hand is a true friend.
What things do you do well? Julian Lage plays the guitar. He plays better than most people his age.
Some people say Julian is truly a guitar whiz. When he was 13 years old, he already played with some of the top guitar players in the country. He also made recordings with them and performed at a number of music festivals. He even appeared live on television for the 2000 Grammy Awards Show, which gives prizes to the country's excellent musicians.
Julian was five when his father brought home a guitar. Just one year later Julian astonished people with his amazing talent. He played the guitar very well. A movie about Julian's special skills was made in 1997. It was called Jules at Eight. Julian works hard to play even better. He practices five to eight hours each day. Julian also works on his music with a guitar teacher.
When does Julian have time for school? Instead of going to school, he is taught at home. He does his schoolwork first in the morning so that he can spend the rest of the day on his music.
Julian is not sure what he will do when he grows up. For now he is happy just to play his guitar.
For some people, walking or running outdoors is a great way to exercise. Seeing rubbish(垃圾) all over the ground may not be so great. Well, some people are doing something about it. They are plogging!
“Plogging” began in Sweden. The name combines(组合)the word "plocka" which means to pick up, and word "jogging" which means to run slowly.
A Swedish man named Erik started the sport in 2016. On the World Environment Day website, Erik said that he moved to Stockholm from a small community in northern Sweden. Each day he would ride his bike to work. He became worried about rubbish on his way to work. So he began to picking up the rubbish. And that is how plogging was born! Plogging has already begun in Sweden. But many people who exercise outdoors have been doing this for years.
For example, Jeff is a personal trainer in Washington, D. C. He would pick up rubbish while running outside. He even turned it into a game. He would try to pick up the rubbish without stopping.
He said, "when the street looks bad and dirty, you are going to feel bad about the neighborhood. You may even feel less safe because of that. So if we are all doing our part and picking it up, it's very easy to have beautiful environment. And jogging can be fun, too. You can ask your friends to go plogging and you will enjoy a day of it."
Now plogging is becoming more and more popular. It has become an international sport and there are people all around the world doing this.
