We are living in a world of plastic. Although people know that plastic is 1 to wildlife and human's health, they can hardly avoid using it. There is plastic in nearly everything we 2from shopping bags to drink bottles to food packaging (包装). Now Ekoplaza, a supermarket in Amsterdam, is making it a little easier for shoppers to reduce the use of plastic with a plastic-free aisle (无塑料通道). 700 different kinds of things, 3rice, beans, milk, snacks and even meat, can be found at the aisle. 4 is in packaging made of glass, metal and paper.
An environmental group called A Plastic Planet came up with the great idea. They 5that at least one plastic-free aisle is in supermarkets around the world. They have created poster to help shoppers find out environment-friendly packaging as well.
Ekoplaza, which plans to set the plastic-free aisles across its 74 stores by the end of the year, is not the only company trying to reduce plastic 6. In Berlin, a store has been trying to change people's shopping 7 since 2014. It encourages shoppers to bring their own bags by selling everything in bulk (散装).
It's nice to see companies trying to make a 8. For the real change to happen, 9, it depends on the public. They play the most important role. So, would you like to choose plastic-free things, even that means 10 your favourite food or drinks?

Do you want to make friends with a special man? Here is some information about him. He is quiet and shy. He likes to hide his eyes behind his hair. He doesn't smile very often. However, if you talk to him about music, he'll have a lot to say.
This is Jay Chou, the Taiwanese pop king (天王) His fans are so excited because he will have a singing party next month. Many pop stars will come, too.
Chou grew up just with his mother. He did not talk much and did badly in many school subjects. His mother noticed the boy's special interest in music and sent him to learn piano when he was only three years old. He loved it and kept on practicing.
Chou is not very handsome. He does not speak clearly when he sings or talks. But the singer has a lot of fans. "He is really good at music. It makes him attractive (有魅力的) to me, said Liu Jiajun, a Junior 2 student in No. 101 Middle School in Beijing. "He is true to himself. He never follows others, "said Zhang Yujie, a Junior 1 girl at No. 23 Middle School in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province.
Mike and Julia always wanted to be sure they were doing the right thing before they made important decisions.
When they wanted to buy a car, it took a long time for them to decide which one to buy. They looked at all the different cars carefully. It had to be the right size, the right color and the right price. Finally, they chose the car they wanted.
When they went out for dinner, it always took a long time before they chose what to eat. They carefully read the menu and discussed all the choices together. They were patient and never in a hurry.
After a while they had a baby boy, they were happy and called him Jordan. Jordan smiled a lot, but he didn't make any noise. He never cried. All their friends said, "He's such a nice quiet baby!"
Jordan learned everything that other babies learn. He learned to walk. He learned to go to the bathroom by himself. He learned to sleep in the bed. He learned to sit on a chair and eat at the table. However, he didn't learn how to talk and he still never cried. But Mike and Julia didn't worry about it too much. They just waited. They were confident Jordan would talk one day.
One day, while eating dinner, Jordan suddenly said, "Mother, I think the soup needs a little more salt. "
Mike and Julia were surprised, "You can talk!" said Julia.
"Of course I can talk!" said Jordan. "After all, I am three years old. ""Why didn't you talk before?" asked Mike.
"I didn't need to, "said Jordan. "The food was always good before. "
Do you want to live a happier life? Try laughing for no reason. That's how many people start their day at Laughter Yoga (瑜伽) Clubs around the world, and many doctors now think that having a good laugh might be one of the best ways to stay healthy.
The first Laughter Yoga Club was started in Mumbai, India, in 1995 by Dr Madan Kataria. "Young children laugh about 300 times a day. Adults (成人) laugh between 7 and 15 times a day, "says Dr Kataria. "Everyone's naturally good at laughing. We want people to feel happy with their lives. "
A study at the UCLA School of Medicine in California shows that laughter reduces stress (减缓压力) and is very good for the heart. Laughter Yoga is used in many hospitals for th illness treatment (疾病治疗) and it is also practiced in schools, factories and old people's homes.
So, what is Laughter Yoga? I went to my nearest Laughter Club to find out. I was quite nervous about it. I didn't like the idea of laughing with others. First, our laughter teacher told us to clap our hands and say, "ho ho ho, ha ha ha. He said our bodies can't tell the difference between fake laughter and real laughter, so they both work. After ten minutes everybody in the room was laughing for real! We did different kinds of laughter exercises and finally I was surprised by how relaxed I felt.
So if you're upset about something, just start laughing. As Dr Kataria says, "When you laugh, you change, and when you change, the world changes around you. "

On a (snow) evening, a rich lady was standing by the road. Her car was broken. She saw a man riding a bike towards her. The man was Robert Hanks. The lady wondered, "Is man going to help me? Helen has always been interested in helping her community. Her first volunteer experience was for the American Red Cross when she was in high school. When she was a school teacher, she also found time to volunteer.
After she retired, she started volunteering to help the old. When her father was older, he was not able to see as well as he used to, which made her sad because he had always enjoyed reading. She decided it would be fun to read to elderly people in her community.
She also helped one woman write her stories Ann was almost 100 years old, and Helen wrote down information about her life when she visited her. She put the information in a book and got it published. Ann was very excited to share her life story with her children and grandchildren.
After a strong storm hit some southern cities. Helen volunteered again for the American Red Cross. She prepared food and answered phones in a care centre.
One day Helen read an article in the newspaper about refugees (难民) who needed to learn English. She met once a week with Sahra, a 38-year-old woman from Somalia. Helen gave Sahra a camera and asked her to take pictures of her daily life. In the end, they wrote a book together and used the photos in the book. This helped Sahra learn many new words about her everyday life.
Helen says, "The real value of my volunteer work is becoming friends with the people I help. They enrich my life as well as I enrich theirs.
