As a well-known Chinese TV hostess, Dong Qing is now hosting two cultural shows, Chinese Poetry Conference and Readers. The two shows are encouraging people to love traditional culture and find the beauty of life.
Dong was born in a highly educated family in 1973. She had a great love for traditional literature from an early age. In 2015 when she was about to study in the US, Dong received an invitation from the director of Chinese Poetry Conference asking her to be the hostess. Because of her passion for traditional literature, Dong accepted the job.
"The contest interests me very much. Hosting it is a process of learning about poetry and performing," said Dong. To her great joy, the show has become more and more popular.
Under the slogan " Reading touches people's hearts", the new TV show Readers has become a success. It invites famous guests from all walks of life to read something. Dong works as both hostess and producer.
Readers became a turning point in Dong's 21 years of hosting. She said it brought her"quite a huge challenge".
"There is no shortcut in this world. If you want to be a good host, you need to make thorough preparations,"said the beautiful hostess. The charm of life lies in its unknown, so we just have to try and keep going.
When you think of a national park, you generally picture fresh air and wild animals, right? Well, now youre going to have to add tea shops and something called"the Tube"to your definition, because London, England has signed up to be the first "National Park City. "
London was established by the Romans around 2, 000 years ago and has been continually inhabited(居住于) since then. In all that time, however, nobody had the idea to replace all the parks with big box stores or high buildings, which means London already has a much lower urban density( 密度)than most of the world's cities. Nowadays about a third of the city is green space.
In July 2019, London announced its willingness to become the world's first National Park City. Now the city is moving toward the goal of achieving 50% green space by the year 2050 by connecting and expanding public parks, greening up unused parking lots and the private yards of existing and new houses, fixing some green roofs on existing buildings and even cutting holes in fences for wildlife to pass through.
"Inspired by the aims and values of our precious rural national parks, the London National Park City is basically about making life better in the capital through both small everyday things and long-term strategic thinking," Daniel Raven-Ellison, who began the campaign to make London a National Park City six years ago, said in a press release. " We've been doing that in London for centuries, which is why London is so green and diverse.
London will have a much easier job to achieve this type of green transformation than more densely-urbanized cities like Paris and New York, which have 10% and 27% green space, respectively. But that doesn't mean it's not possible-the National Park City Foundation hopes to employ 25 more cities in addition to London by the year 2025. Glasgow, Scotland and Newcastle upon Tyne in northeast England are all currently considering becoming National Park Cities.
BEIJING- Terry Crossman has spent 20 years in the city of Beijing he now calls home. Wearing his bright red armband and speaking fluent Chinese, from a distance 62-year-old Gao Tianrui could be taken for any regular Chinese man. But on closer inspection, things are not quite what they seem: Gao's real name is Terry and he is from the United States. Having lived in Beijing for more than 20 years, Terry Crossman has finally realized his Chinese dream: becoming a public security volunteer. Life as a"Xicheng Dama"has even made him an online celebrity.
Xicheng Dama are volunteers, usually women in late middle-age, who wander around the streets of downtown Beijing's Xicheng district. And now Crossman has joined their club. In the video footage(片段) that recently went viral(疯传),Crossman said that at first he saw the group as busybodies, but his opinion changed once he was on the inside. "I live in the hutong and my neighbors and I usually help each other. . . This is where I live, where my friends are and where I call home. "

On the ship the captain suggested that he should have a Chinese name. "He named me Gao Tianrui, based on the pronunciation of my English name," he said. After Taiwan he worked in several places ,including New York, Singapore and a 12-year period in Hong Kong.
Crossman first came to the Chinese mainland in 1981, when he went to Shanghai and Suzhou in Jiangsu province. "Wherever I went, I had at least 30 people following me, asking about Hong Kong, how much I earned, what my hobbies were and how I felt about the victory of the Chinese women' s volleyball team,"he said. His first visit to Beijing was six years later on business. " There were few cars and lots of bicycles on the roads. "
Crossman and his family moved to Beijing in 1997,when the traffic was heavier and the city busier. "There were only two subway lines, with no air conditioning,"he said. Since then he has lived and worked in Beijing.

If you are fighting anxieties in your life, here are some tips on dealing with depression(抑郁) naturally.
Try therapy(疗法).
There is no harm in asking for help. It is never too late to do that. Professional help will always be better. The main reason is that an expert therapist is capable of dealing with the condition.
The best way to fight your stress hormones is by eating foods that are healthy to help boost your mood. This is a scientifically proven fact. The right types of foods can help you feel better and happier.
Fix your sleeping schedules.
Sleeping on time may not cure your depression at once, but it's one brick in the wall. If your routine does not allow you to have 8 hours of sleep every night, it means that your brain is not getting enough rest. Lack of sleep leads to anxiety and stress and that can lead to your depression. Depression, in turn, causes insomnia (失眠).
Go out for a walk.
Make a habit of going out every morning for 15 to 20 minutes. For example, you are able to get fresh air which can distract(使转移) you from your body. The blood circulation improves and your organs and muscles get adequate oxygen.
A. Eat healthy food.
B. There are a few benefits.
C. Make a list of healthy food.
D. Your depression can start with lack of sleep. .

"I have cancer," Mom said and held me in a tight hug. I could feel her chest shaking as she tried not to 1but failed.
For all of my twenty-four years, my mom had been 2. Strength and protection had always flowed from her to me. Now I knew it would have to3the other way.
Mom didn't stay down for long. After the shock of breast cancer , she armed herself with a notebook and a pen and a thousand questions for the4. She took notes on white blood cell counts and medications(药物) with long names as though she were studying for entrance exams into medical school. "The not-knowing is the5," she said.
The6was successful. The chemo(化疗) was the harder part. I went with Mom to every chemo 7. She8complained , though her hair was9and her toenails and fingernails fell out one by one. She joked that she could10money on nail polish(指甲油) and put it toward the doctor bills, even though she never wore nail polish. "Cancer can take my11 , my nails, my health and my very life. But it can't take my smile," Mom said.
Mom learned to share her fears with me,and it12an even deeper bond(纽带) between us. Yet, I am certain there were fears she didn't share because she was still protecting me—13she only shared with Dad. Even in the darkest hours, she would just 14the cancer. Mom always said,"When you look your greatest fear in the eye and laugh at it, you take away some of its power. "
Mom was one of the lucky ones. She did 15 her cancer, though not without scars(伤痕). From her, I've learned I may not get to choose what I face, but I do get to choose how I face it.
I was on my way from school to the train station, with a shopping bag in one hand, my laptop in the other, and a heavy bag on one shoulder. I though to myself,"I am (reach) home tonight."
Suddenly, I was tripped(绊倒) by something and fell down to the ground. Unfortunately, I got bad cuts on my knee and elbow(肘部), and they started bleeding. My laptop landed on the road, and a bottle in the shopping bag was broken, leaving the bag all wet. My first act was to pick up my laptop, but I couldn't raise (I). After a while, I (realize) that probably I would miss the train. That might prevent me from ( get) home that night. That means I had no way to get home that night.
I thought nobody else was around and I could turn nobody for help, so I was allowing myself (cry) a little, when a young lady appeared. She checked me to make sure I had no serious injuries, and found my face was fine. After she told me about that, I breathed a sigh of relief. She asked the place I was heading. She was the woman to whom I told that I wanted to catch the last train to go home. "Your train has already left, she said. Then a taxi happened to have pulled up, and the lady asked the driver to take me to my home. "I can't afford it since it'll be a long drive, I?"I refused strongly. Thinking for a second (calm), she gave me £30,which was more than I would spend on food every week. Suddenly, tears came to my eyes!
I wish I could have a chance to thank her personally one day. However, I even didn't have a clear impression of her looks. And I didn't know about her ( identify) at all. Finally, I decided to always get ready to lend a helping hand to strangers to repay all the kindness that I received from her.

A man came home from work late again, tired and annoyed, to find his 5-year-old son waiting for him at the door. "Daddy, may I ask you a question?"
"Yeah, sure, what is it?"replied the man.
"Daddy, how much money do you make an hour?"
"That's none of your business. What makes you ask such a thing?"the man said angrily.
"I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?"pleaded(恳求) the little boy.
"If you must know, I make $20. 00 an hour.
"Oh," the little boy replied, head bowed.
Looking up, he said,"Daddy, may I borrow $ 10. 00, please?"
The father was angry. "If the only reason why you want to know how much money I make is just that you can borrow some to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. Think about why you're being so selfish. I work long, hard hours every day and don't have time for such childish games.
The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door. The man sat down and started to get even madder about the little boy's questioning. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money. After an hour or so,the man calmed down, and started to think he might have been a little hard on his son. Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that $ 10. 00 and he really didn't ask for money very often. The man went to the door of the little boy's room and opened the door.
"Are you asleep, son?"he asked.
"No daddy, I'm awake," replied the boy.
"I've been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier,"said the man.
"It's been a long day and I took my aggravation(激怒) out on you. Here's that $ 10. 00 you asked for.
The little boy sat straight up, beaming( 笑容满面). "Oh, thank you daddy," he yelled.
注意:1)续写词数应为150左右;
2)请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
Then, the little boy reached under his pillow, and pulled out some crumpled (变皱的) bills.
After hearing what the boy said, the man felt so sorry for what he had said to his son.
