When I was 13, my only purpose(目标) was to become the star on our football team. That meant 1Miller King, , the best 2 at our school.
The football season started in September, and all summer long I carried my football everywhere for 3. Just before September, Miller was 4by a car and lost his right arm. I went to see him after he came back from the 5. He looked very 6, but he didn't cry.
That season, I 7 all of Miller's records(纪录) while he 8 the games from the chair. We went 10-1 and I was named the best player, 9 I often had crazy dreams in which I was to blame (责怪)for Miller's accident.
One afternoon, I saw Miller in great trouble when going over a short wall which wasn't 10to climb if he had both arms. I was sure I was the last person he wanted to accept help from. However, he agreed. 11, he moved slowly over the wall. When we were finally 12 on the other side, he said to me, "You know, I didn't tell you this during the season, but you did 13 Thanks a lot!"
His words freed me from my bad 14. Disabled but not defeated(被击败的) , he was 15 the most excellent one. To me, he was more than a winner.

Suddenly (突然), there came a car. It was going very fast. When the driver saw the boy in his way, he braked (刹车) hard. But it was too late…The small boy was lying on the street without moving. To everyone's surprise, the car didn't stop. It drove away quickly.
People ran to the boy. There was a cut on the boy's head and he lost a lot of blood. The coffee shop owner (主人) telephoned the police. Soon an ambulance (救护车)arrived and took the boy to the hospital.
At 6:30 p.m., the police arrived and started questioning people. About half an hour later, they asked me to go to the police station because I saw everything. I gave them all the information I knew because I really wanted them to catch the driver. I didn't leave the police station until 8:00 p.m. After that I went home because I didn't feel like talking to anyone.
