My mother works all day so I have to take care of my younger brother. My little brother is about four years old and he1our mother all the time.
One day, after I give my little brother his dinner, he starts 2 for Mum. He is so young and 3 misses(想) Mum. So I 4 him, put on his shoes, carry him on my back(背) and walk out. Soon he falls asleep and we go on. About half a(n)5 later, I find that he loses a shoe while sleeping. I take him off my back and put him down. I know we 6 find that shoe, for our mother doesn't have enough money to buy new shoes. We have to go back to find 7 , so I tell my brother to wait(等) right 8 . A man hears it and stops me just before I walk off. He is very 9 . He asks me, "You are leaving your brother here to find the shoe? What will you do if(如果) your 10 is not here when you return?"
I don't know 11 to answer that question. He says, "It's OK if you can't find the shoe,12 it is not OK to lose your brother." Then he sends us to 13 workplace(工作地) by taxi.
In my lifetime, I meet many strangers 14 the young man. I feel sorry that I cannot find them and say thank you. I do not even 15 what the man's face looks like, but he teaches me a lesson — people are more important than things.

Scientists say that left-handers don't have higher IQs(智商) than right-handers. Left-handers and right-handers just use their different brains. They are good at different things.
The left side of our brain is Language(语言) and Writing. The right side of our brain is Creativity(创造) and Emotion(情感). The right-handers use the left side of their brain more often. The left-handers use the right side of their brain more often.
Why are some people left-handed? Scientists are still looking for the answer. Genes(基因) might be one reason(原因). Some use their left hands at a very early age, and others might hurt(使 受伤) their right hands. Then they begin to use their left hands more often.
My father is German, but he works in England. He marries my mother, who is an English woman. Her family name is Robinson, so when I was born in 1632 in England, they named me Robinson, after her.
My father does well in his business and I go to a good school. He wants me to get a good job, and live a quiet, happy life. But I want adventure(冒险) and an exciting life.

But I can't forget, and about a year later, I see a friend in town. His father has a ship and my friend says to me, "We are sailing(远航) to London tomorrow. Why don't you come with us?"
The next day we sail for London.
But, a few days later, there is a strong wind. The sea is rough(汹涌的) and dangerous, and the ship goes up and down. I am very ill, and I am very afraid.
"Oh, I don't want to die(死)!" I cry. "I want to live! If I live, I will go home and never go to the sea again!"
The next day the wind stops, and the sea is quiet and beautiful again. (To be continued 未完待续)
