It was the last night of my summer camp.1 I didn't want to leave, I had to go back home the next day. I didn't want to pack. I just wanted to make the night go2. How I wished that I could make time3at that moment. However, it seemed that time flew more quickly than before. I lay on the bed but I wasn't 4 at all. I just closed my eyes, thinking of every minute I had5with the friends I met during the camp.
Just then, someone6the door. "Open the door," said a soft7. l thought it was my friend, Elle. So I replied," It's open." Then the door opened. When I looked at the door, I was8.There stood all my friends, Elle, Lily, Sally and Allie. Together they walked over to my bed and then each of them gave me a big hug. We hugged each other. We9our phone numbers and e-mail addresses. We said that no matter how far we would be away from each other and no matter how many other friends we had, we would10forget each other.
Just then, a tear slowly rolled down my face. As I looked up, l noticed all of my friends' eyes were also filled with tears.

The world uses about a thousand million tons of water a day. Water is a human right and every one should have their share. Yet more than 700 million people around the world have trouble getting clean safe water.
Treating wastewater is a good way to provide fresh water for us. And it also helps the environment by keeping waste out of rivers and oceans.80% of wastewater around the world is not treated at all, and it is running into oceans. But now we have got the technology to treat and reuse the wastewater.
While 75% of our planet is covered with water, only about 2% is fresh water—that comes from rivers, lakes, ice and snow. The rest, 98% of the water, is in seas and oceans. It is too salty to drink. Then desalination(海水淡化) businesses come in. More than 19, 000 factories have been built around the world, mostly in coastal countries. They process(加工) more than 92 million tons of water every day. But the technology they use requires a lot of energy.
Scientists are working to create a less costly technology. They want to produce 20 times more clean water and make sure everyone has enough. But for now, the world still faces each day with not having enough water for everyone.
It's always a happy moment when you get some pocket money. But have you ever thought about how to spend your pocket money wisely? Here is some advice.
Make a list. When you get your pocket money, don't get too excited. We all have a lot of things that we want, but do you really need them? That's why it is necessary to make a list before you spend money Start with the thing you want most, you can also write down how much it costs or how important it is in your life. By doing this, you will see if you really need to buy it.
Help others. How about being more selfless(无私的) and using your pocket money to help others? We all know that there are many people in the world who are in need of our help. Helping others brings out the best in us and is one of the greatest joys in our lives. So consider using your pocket money to do something useful and helpful, and feel how you can make a difference.
Save as much as you can. There is an old saying, "Money doesn't grow on trees." lf you spend all your pocket money right away, you'll have no money until your next" pay day". A wallet sometimes might not be the best place to save money because it may make it easier for you to spend your money. Get a piggy bank or ask your parents to start a savings account(账户) for you. Someday when you look back you'll get a strong feeling of achievement by saving so much money by yourself!
Children in the UK today would rather(宁愿) read, do housework or even do homework than play outside—and they get out half as much as their parents did when they were young.
According to a UK study, those growing up during the 1970s and 1980s enjoying more than two hours of outdoor activities every weekday and nine hours on weekends—whatever the weather is. But their children play outside for just over one hour each weekday and fewer than five hours on Saturdays and Sundays. So the UK started an activity to encourage children to give up 30 minutes of screen time a day to play outdoors. The Wild Network, born on September 25, 2013, is joined by more than 300 organization: large or small. It tries to attract(吸引)children away from television and computer screen and into woods(树林) and parks. It's the biggest activity to reconnect(再连接) children with nature and outdoor activities and it plans to help improve children's health. Suggestions on how to get more time in nature include collecting fruits, camping, watching autumn color on trees and so on.
This is not the first time message of less screen, more play has been brought up. Children in 1980swere encouraged to do the same by BBC TV show Why Don't You, which encouraged children to " turn off your TV set, and go to do something less boring instead".
My name is Zhao Kai. I'm from No. 1 Middle School. In September, 2016. I got a chance to go to America as an exchange student. It was a busy weekday, I went to school on a crowded bus and there were lots of people. Luckily, I got a seat. After a few stops, an elderly foreigner got on the bus and stood just a few steps away from me.
I know it's good manners to offer the seat to the old when I am in China. So I stood up and said to the man, "Sir, would you like to take my seat?" To my surprise, the gentleman smiled, shook his head and said, "Thank you." He didn't accept my offer. I felt very embarrassed(尴尬)and wondered why he did not accept the seat, as most Chinese elderly people would.
When I got home, I was told that if the gentleman had taken the seat, it would have meant he was old. Most westerners of a certain age don't want others to think they are old. So I made a mistake that day, even though I meant to be polite. Thus I got to know about a cultural difference between China and western countries.
