If you have the flu, it's very important to stay home from school. Because it is a(n)1that could make some people ill. We should2it spreading (传播) around. The flu is a fever3one or more of these: cough, sore throat or headaches. If you have the flu, home is the4place to stay. If you stay at home, you won't make other people ill. And if you have the flu,5at home is what you need to get better.
Take these steps if you feel6.
Tell your parents. They will call the7to talk about whether(是否) you have the flu or some other illness.
Stay home from school and other8places. Also, try not to make other people in your family ill. Do that by washing your hands9.
Get rest, drink more water and you'll feel better fast. Be sure to tell your parents how you're feeling10they can take good care of you.
Go back to school only when you're feeling better.
Are you looking for something fun and would you like to help others in your spare time? Then join us to be a volunteer! We're a non-profit (非盈利的) organization. We have volunteer jobs of all ages. Anyone, from twelve-year-old children to people in their seventies can become a volunteer.
You can help people in many ways. Schools need help with taking care of children while parents are working. Hospitals need volunteers to look after children while their parents are seeing a doctor. Animals lovers can help take care of those dogs and cats without homes. There is something for everyone.
"As a volunteer, I don't want to get anything. Seeing the children's happy faces, I'm happy, too." said Carlos Domingo, an old woman of 62. "I often played computer games in my spare time before. Now I help old people learn how to use computers," said another volunteer at the age of 18.
If everyone helps out a bit, we'll have a better world to live in. Call us at 010-800-555-5756 or visit our website: www.activol.com.

Linda was a sixteen-year-old girl in Canada. She was feeling bad for several days. Her mother took her to a hospital and the doctors found out that she had cancer(癌症).
Linda's life changed. She began to go to the hospital often for treatment(治疗), and she also became depressed.
The hospitals and the doctors were good, but Linda did not have hope herself. Linda's mother called a flower shop close to the hospital. “I want some beautiful flowers for my daughter. She is a teen girl with cancer." She told the shop owner.
Later, the flowers arrived. Then Linda saw something unusual. It was a card. It read: Linda, I own this flower shop. I had cancer when I was fifteen years old.I am 24 years old now. Good luck. My heart goes out to you.
Yours,
Alice
Linda smiled. She finally felt some real hope. She found the will (意志) to 1ive.
Little things make a big difference. All of us can give little things like kindness, encouragement and hope to others.
When you feel a sneeze(喷嚏)or cough coming on, covering your mouth stops the spread (传播) of germs(细菌). You probably knew that.
But how to cover your mouth is very important. You might use tissues(纸巾), and put your used tissues into the bin. “If you don't have tissues, you should sneeze into your elbow(肘部), not your hand, even if you are used to doing that." The doctors advised.
“If somebody sneezes into his hands, those germs will be passed on to other people, or other things that people touch." said Dr. Hill.
Germs are most commonly spread by sneezing and coughing. When they land on your hands, they are passed from hands to things like bills, door knobs(扶手), elevator buttons(电梯按钮) and other surfaces. At the same time, the people around you can touch them.
This isn't nagging(唠叨). The Centers for Disease Control also suggest that sneezing and coughing into your elbow is necessary. Even the New York City subway officers ask the passengers to “cough or sneeze into elbow or use a tissue."
“The suggestion was taken seriously about 10 years ago. However, most people didn't pay much attention to it. That means the adults may have missed the advice. But children are often taught in school the right way to cough or sneeze." Dr. Benjamin said.
To be clear, people can't keep away from all the risks in this way, but it's the best choice. At the same time, we'd better wear masks(口罩)and often wash our hands. “Hand washing is one of the most important things people can do to keep healthy." Dr. Hill said.
A: Good afternoon, young man.
B: I'm not feeling well, doctor. I have a headache and feel tired.
A: Let me have a look.
B: Yes, I did that at home just now. It is a little high. Is that serious? .
A: Don't worry.
B: A cold?
A: You should take the medicine twice a day and have a good rest.
B: OK. Can I have an ice-cream? I love to eat it very much
A:It is bad for your health, especially when you are sick.
B: Thank you, doctor.
A: You are welcome. By the way, drink more hot water, young man.

Does helping others make you happy? Yes. All of us could be volunteers and help people in need.
Judy, an American girl, had a heart problem. She was sad. Her classmates tried to cheer her up. Judy was so sick that she needed to have an operation (手术). But her family was poor. Her parents hoped to get help from the public (公众). A TV station soon set up a call-in center for Judy. Many people called up Judy and helped her out. At the same time, Judy's classmates handed out flyers (传单) to tell others about Judy's story. Judy and her parents were really moved (感动的).
We can do lots of volunteer work. We can volunteer in hospitals, old people's homes and so on. We can also help homeless people or volunteer to clean up parks. Volunteering is not only a great way to help people, but also a great way to make new friends and have fun.

Jimmy is a middle school student. He adopted(收养)three baby dogs two months ago. He took good of them and the dogs became healthier and fatter. Jimmy loved very much. But now he feels .He has some problems. First, he out of his money to buy food for dogs last week. Second, the dogs are too big and there Enough room for them., the dogs have become too noisy. So his mother hates them. She can't stand them.
Some of Jimmy's friends are tryinghim up. Some advise(建议)Jimmy should put up dogs' photos in the street and look for their. Some suggest him calling the TV stationhelp. Do you have any good ideas to help him?
Would you offer help if an old man falls down on the street? A reporter once did a survey among 200 students.25% of them said they would help the old man stand up right away.
Eighty students said if the old man asked them for help, they would give him a hand without thinking twice. However, 30students said they would refuse to help him because they didn't want to get into any trouble. But they said they would call the police for help. The rest of the students said they would see whether the old man needed help or not.
Then what should we do when we see an old person fall down on the street? Here are some tips. Firstly, we should ask what's the matter with him or her. If he or she is badly hurt, we shouldn't move him or her and should call120 for help at once. Secondly, ,, we can ask the people around to help him or her together. Though some old people try to get some money in a bad way, we should believe that most old people are kind. And we should try to help them, because helping the old is a traditional virtue of our country. Don't you think so?
According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC)(疾病控制预防心),if you don't often wash your hands, you can pick up viruses(病菌) from many places and make yourself ill. You're at risk every time you touch your eyes, nose or mouth. In fact, one of the most common ways people catch colds is by rubbing(揉)their noses or their eyes when there are cold viruses on their hands. If you don't often wash your hands, especially when you're sick, you may spread the viruses directly to others, You should wash your hands in the following situations:
※after using the bathroom. ※after blowing your nose or coughing.
※before eating, serving or preparing food. ※after toughing pets or other animals.
※after visiting anyone who is sick.
When your hands are dirty. There's right way to wash your hands. Follow these simple steps to keep your hands clean:Use warm water(not cold or hot): Wash for 15 seconds: rinse(冲洗)well under warm running water and dry them with a clean towel.
