It's a problem that many teenagers have to deal with. That is lack (缺少) of confidence. Lacking confidence is a1thing. It robs (掠夺) you of chances in life. It wastes your time. It2feelings that hurt you.
If you are someone who doesn't have3in yourself, take this chance to4the way you look at yourself and the world.
You are a human being. You have strengths and you have5. You have talents and you have faults.6, you are just like everyone else. You are just as7as other people.
Maybe you are looking around, thinking, "That can't be right. He has so8natural athletic (运动的) talent, and she's so smart." It may be true. But what you are also thinking is "I have none of that".
But there is only one real difference9you and them. They have found and accepted and started showing their talents, 10you have not. You need to learn to accept. Accept the things go11.
They go wrong for you but they also go wrong for12people, too. It happens to13.
Confident people dig through problems, rebuild and move on.14people just can't get out of it. So look at your potential (潜在的) for15in the future rather than your failures. Then you'll feel confident!

①Studying is usually not a happy task, especially when there are so many things you can do for fun. The balance(平衡) between work and play is a lifelong matter. Are you feeling tired and bored when you study? What should you do if you're not interested in study? Here are ways you could do to deal with the problem.
②Change your thoughts. If you're lack of passion(缺乏热情) for study, just think about your future. Only good grades can give you a chance to achieve your dreams. Good grades will help you get into your dream high school and college. No matter how old you are, you're always growing and learning.
③Work hard to achieve your dreams. Study is teaching you an important lesson ﹣﹣You must work for what you want to achieve. Winning a game, passing a test, doing something difficult. . . These are all rewarding(值得的) experiences because of the time you spent and the effort you made. The harder you work, the happier you'll be.
④Relax yourself at times. You don't need to study as often as you think you should do. I am not telling you not to study﹣﹣﹣You still should, but you can try studying less if it doesn't influence your grades.
⑤Find your favorite subjects. Discover your interests and develop them carefully. Keep studying and stay healthy.
Japanese students work very hard but many are unhappy. They feel heavy pressures from their parents. Most students are always told by their parents to study harder and better so that they can have a wonderful life in the future. Though this may be a good idea for those very bright students, it can have terrible results for many students who are not gifted enough. Many of them have tried very hard at school but have failed in the exams and have their parents lose hope. Such students feel that they are hated by everyone else they meet and they don't want to go to school any longer. They became dropouts.
It is surprising that though most Japanese parents are worried about their children, they do not help them in any way. Many parents feel that they are not able to help their children and that it is the teachers' work to help their children. To make matters worse, a lot of parents send their children to those schools opening in the evenings on weekends ﹣﹣﹣ they only help the students to pass the exams and never teach them any real sense of the world.
Many Japanese schools usually have rules about everything from the students' hair to their clothes and things in the school bags. Child psychologists now think that such strict rules are harmful to the feelings of the students. Almost 40% of the students said that no one had taught them how to get on with others, how to tell right from wrong and how to show love and care for others, even for their parents.
A. Use these natural breaks to stop and do self﹣reflection. B. Successful students always know self﹣reflection is important. C. Different people have different ways to self﹣reflect. D. find a quiet place and take out your reflection diary. E. think about things that you are not sure of. |
Self﹣reflection (反省) means not only slowing down but also calming yourself. You can follow the advice which can help you.
First, choose the proper time to do it. School textbooks are divided into units of study. Look for time when you finish a unit of study. Sometimes you know the unit is over because there is some kind of test.
Then, Write down some notes on the new things that you learned in the unit. Let your mind think about the notes you have written.
Finally, Maybe you learned a new way to work out a math problem, but you're not sure when to use it. The questions written down will help you remember to look for answers the next time you are working with the same topic.
If you have never taken the time to do self﹣reflection, try it now.
It's really difficult to in such a school.
