Zhang Guimei was born in 1957 in Heilongjiang. She works in Yunnan now . In 2002, she built (创办) Lijiang Huaping Girl's Middle School(中学). It is a free(免费) school for girls in the mountains. So many girls can study there.
Zhang Guimei gets up at 5 a. m. every day , then she works hard with other teachers. Twelve years later, Zhang Guimei has helped 1804 girls change their fate(命运) with knowledge(知识). In 2020, she won the honor as one of the top ten people touching China（感动中国）by CCTV.
