My name is Liu Ning, a middle school student from Shandong. I am thinking about my 1 in the future. What will it be 2 in fifteen years' time?
I will find a job in Beijing. It's my favourite 3. I will buy a big house there and ask my parents to 4 with me. So I won't need to go back to my home town when I miss (想念)5.
I will only work 6 days a week. So I will spend the other 3 days with my family. I will get some exercise to keep 7 and I will also take some trips to have fun. How will Igo to work then? I will 8 . I think I will have a nice car.
It's really interesting to 9 the future, and it will be possible (可能的) it to make my dream come true. I'm looking forward to the 10 days.
I have a friend. She doesn't walk or talk, but she is very kind and friendly to me. When I feel tired, she can help me 1. She makes me happy almost every day. You can't touch or see 2, but she's everywhere. Do you know who she is? She is my best friend —music. Music is my favourite kind of art (艺术). When I was four years old, I started to listen to different kinds of music. A 3 caught my eyes the first time I saw it. At first. I was 4 playing the piano. As a four-year-old girl, classical (古典的) music is not very 5 to me, so I didn't want to play the piano any more. 6 two months later, I changed my idea.
One day, I was 7 to The Ninth Symphony (《第九交响曲》) at home. It sounded very beautiful. My mother told me that Beethoven wrote it after he couldn't hear. Beethoven could hear nothing, but he didn't give up the piano. So I should 8 him.
From then on, I tried my best to learn to play the piano again. When I feel happy, I will play a happy song; when I feel 9, I will choose a sad song. In a word, I can always find a good 10 to cheer me up with the help of my friend, music.

It's not only women who love shopping— today men like it too. Some men say it's their favourite. But men and women shop in very different ways.
Where do they go?
Women—Clothes shops, clothes shops, more clothes shops. Men—Clothes shops, electronics (电子设备) shops and music shops.
How long do they spend shopping?
Women—A day.
Men—An hour, possibly two.
What do they love?
Women—They love looking at everything, trying on clothes and talking to the shop workers. They love finding that they can wear an "S" when they are usually an "M".
Men—They love getting home! They love trying on their new clothes and playing with their new "toys"(玩具).
What don't they like?
Women—They don't like hearing" Can we go home now? The football game starts in half an hour. "Men—They don't like waiting for women to decide what they want. They don't like asking shop workers for help.
William Shakespeare was a writer of plays and poems. Some of his most famous plays are Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet and Macbeth. He wrote thirty—seven plays in all. They are still popular today.
He was born in 1564 in England. At school, he liked watching plays. He decided to be an actor when he finished school at the age of fourteen. In 1582, he married a woman from a poor family. She was eight years older than he was. Their first child was a daughter. Later they had twins (双胞胎). In 1585, Shakespeare left his hometown, Stratford—upon—Avon. His wife and children stayed behind. No one knows why he left or what he did between 1588 and 1592.
At twenty—eight, he moved to London and joined a theatre company which opened the Globe Theatre in 1599. He became an actor, and he also wrote plays. He usually acted in his own plays. He made almost no money from his writing. But he made a lot of money from acting. With the money he bought a large house in his home town.
At the age of forty—nine, Shakespeare retired (退休) and went to live in Stratford—upon—Avon. He died at the age of fifty—two. He left his money to his family but he left his great works to the world. You still see his plays in English and in many other languages. He is one of the most famous writers in the world.
Do you shake hands with someone when you meet him or her for the first time? Do you open your mouth and eyes wide when you are surprised? Do you smile when you meet your friend? These are examples of body language.
How important is body language? It is said that our body language talks about 50% of what we really mean while words themselves only talk about 7%. So, while your mouth is closed, just what is your body saying. . .
Remember that your body language can help you talk with people. And these rules(规则) will help you to get your message across, without any words at all.
● Smile when you are listening
● Nod your head to tell the others that you understand.
● Remember! In English—speaking countries, it is polite to look at h person you are speaking to in the eye. It is not rude.
● Look confused when you don't understand. This tells the person you are speaking to that you would like an explanation (解释).
①Tom moves his feet when he walks on the road.
②Amy opens her eyes when she gets up in the morning.
③Lucy opens her mouth and eyes wide when she is surprised.
④Tony smiles when he meets one of his new friends.
What can you think about first when you talk about Chengdu? Before my trip to Chengdu, my answer was the panda. But now my answer is the teahouse (茶馆).
Last year, I went to Chengdu to visit my friend Jane. On a Sunday afternoon, we took a walk on the streets. It was not difficult to find a teahouse here and there. We walked into Yuelai Teahouse. It is an old teahouse with a history of 112 years. In Yuelai Teahouse, the waitresses (女服务员) were friendly and they made us feel comfortable. We not only had the fresh tea at a low price, but also enjoyed fantastic Chuanju.
Jane told me that teahouses in Chengdu are not only good places to drink tea but also good places for people to relax and meet friends or family. She was right. I saw people playing chess and card games. In a teahouse people can slow down their life. I think that's why the teahouses can win lots of people's hearts.
Jenny is a little girl and she always puts her head down because she thinks she is not beautiful. One day she goes to a shop to buy a red bow (蝴蝶结). The shop worker keeps saying that she looks very beautiful with it. Jenny is so happy that she heads up and smiles.
Jenny meets her teacher when she goes into the classroom. "Jenny, you look really beautiful today, " says the teacher.
That day Jenny hears a lot of things like that from many people. "They must see my red bow, "Jenny thinks. But when she gets home and looks in the mirror (镜子), she finds there isn't any bow on her head. She must lose it on her way back to school when she runs into someone else.
Let's be confident (自信的)and not worry too much about looks. When we put our heads up, we can be beautiful.
