Football is a fast game played in winter and early spring. Lots of people play football in parks or playgrounds just for fun. With hundreds of years' history, it is one of the most popular sports in England. The English love football very much and they turned most of their main players into famous persons. David Beckham and Bobby Charlton became heroes for many children. The most interesting part of the English football year is the FA (Football Association) Cup Final each May.
Keeping a diary—a good way to improve English. When I was at the age of thirteen, I began to keep a diary in English. At first it seemed difficult to me, but now it has begun to be easy. I know it's not possible to learn English well without more practice, I like reading, listening and speaking. After school I often go to the school library to read English stories. My English teacher always helps me translate some passages into Chinese. I have little time to watch TV, or to play computer games. After I finish writing my diary, I always try to correct mistakes with the help of the dictionary. I think that keeping a diary is one of the best ways to imp rove our English study.
London is such a wonderful city. It is very large. The River Thames runs through the city from west to east. The city has two parts—the South and the North. In the North there are important buildings, shops, big parks and interesting places.
The weather in London is good. In winter it is not very cold and in summer it is not very hot because the city is near the sea. People say London is a foggy city and that it often rains. It is true.
Last year, when I was in London I saw one of the thickest fogs in years. You could hardly see your hand in front of your face. Cars and buses moved along with their lights on.
When evening fell, the weather grew even worse. The fog was as thick as milk，and all the buses and cars stopped. I had an important meeting on the other side of the town, but it was impossible to find a taxi. I had to get there on foot.
My home town is a small village not far from the Dongjiang River. A road runs t it. You can see houses behind green trees along both s of the road. There a about 300 people in the village. All of them are very f. In busy seasons most of them do farm work i the fields. Our village is famous f its fruit. When summer c, many businessmen drive here t buy them.
