Then I started to spend my time on books. I borrowed and bought many books, and 4them within the vacation. I enjoyed the time as I could imagine whatever it was in a book in my own creative way.
It was an exam in the 9th grade that made me 5fall in love with reading. I took first place in science and literature (文学). My school organized an award ceremony (颁奖典礼), so I received two awards for the two 6. My school gave me a book and a dictionary. I was very 7when seeing the prizes. Since I was attracted by reading, books have been what I only 8. The moment I received the gifts, I felt so proud of being a reading lover.
My father works in a railway station, so we have free membership at the railway library. The library held a reading 9a few years ago and I won first prize. It was still held after I entered the college.

I have a neighbor we call "Happy". I never see her angry at anything and never hear her say a harsh word to anyone.
Happy and her husband Ben, 70, have a huge garden. They spend many happy hours together working on it. Most of the neighbors watch interestingly as Happy and Ben double the size of their garden. As the cost of food climbs faster than Ben's beans, we all wish we also had such a large garden. As the rest of us spend our money at the market, Happy picks beans in her garden.
One day Happy and Ben invite most of the neighborhood over for an "all-day food festival". We are told to bring gloves and arrive very early in the morning. We don5t know what is about to take place.
By 9:00 a. m. , there are nine of us in the garden picking tomatoes, beans and squash. By 10:00 a. m. 5 there is lots of laughter. We share a lot of funny stories. By five o'clock p. m・, everyone is a little drunk from the wine and beer. After dinner, we play games. As we are leaving, Happy and Ben give each of us a shopping bag full of the bounty of the day. What a delightful gift!
Well, the point isn't so much about the food. The true gift is a day of friends enjoying one another's company.
Do you have any online classes? It is possible to take classes at home. All you need is a computer and a headset (耳机).
However, most students don't seem to like online classes. According to a recent survey, only 33 percent of students would take such classes. Over 1,500 students from 10 cities took the survey.
Many students said it is hard to focus on studying while taking online classes. This was true for Lian Ruohan, 15, at the Affiliated (附属的) High School of Peking University." There are no classmates, no real teachers watching me. I can surf the internet or do other things if I want to. It's harder to always stay focused," she said.
Lian prepares a lot before taking her classes to make sure she will pay attention. She also pushes herself to communicate with teachers. Students can come up with or answer questions while taking online classes.
But Wen Jiayi, 14, at the Yucai Middle School Attached to Chengdu No7 High School, thinks online interaction (互动) isn't enough. "The online teachers don't really get to know me. When I don't hand in homework, all I get is a short message instead of real concern (关心), "she said.
However, online classes still have other advantages. "It saves time and money compared to taking offline classes. Also, if I don't understand some parts of a lesson, I can watch it over again," Lian said.

One day a young man was standing in a crowded place, shouting that he had the most beautiful heart in the world. Most of the people who saw his heart were amazed at the beauty of his heart.
Suddenly, an old man appeared and said, "Oh, my son, your heart is not as beautiful as mine. "The old man showed his heart to the young man. It had places where pieces had been removed and other pieces put in. But they didn't fit quite right, and there were gaps and rough edges. Some places have never been filled in.
The young man laughed, " Comparing your heart with mine, mine is perfect and yours is full of scars."
The old man said, "Dear boy, my heart is just as beautiful as your heart. Sometimes people give me a piece of their heart back, and it fills the space as best it can. Other times, I give my love and get nothing in return. Those are the empty spaces. They hurt, but they show me that I can love and love again." The young man stood still. He walked up to the old man, tore a piece of his heart and gave the piece to the old man.
The old man placed it in his heart, and then took a piece from his old scarred heart and placed it in the wound in the young man's heart. The young man looked at his heart, not perfect anymore but more beautiful than ever.
