Social media is a big part of most people's lives. There are social apps and sites like WeChat and Sina Weibo, as well as video apps like Tick Tok and Kuaishou. How do you behave when you use these apps?
Recently researchers at the University of Sussex, the UK, studied social media users ranging from 10 to 15 years old. They found that they can be divided into four personality types.
Geeks (极客)
Geeks are active social media users, but they find it difficult to deal with the life in the real world. Most of them are boys who like playing computer games and making music and videos. They often post creative works online, using fake(假的)names. In fact, they should avoid spending too much time on the Internet.
Internet celebrities
Internet celebrities like sharing as well, but they are much more visible(看得见的)than geeks. They might become well-known for their singing or dancing. But many of them, especially teenagers, share almost every side of their lives in order to own more fans. Being a teenage Internet celebrity can sometimes cause problems in the real world.
Lurkers(潜伏者)
The first two groups are lucky to find a place to show their talent. But most teenagers probably fall into the third type –"lurkers", or people who are neither too active nor visible. This group prefers WeChat over Sina Weibo, as WeChat has private groups. They can't express themselves well but at least they make sure to protect their personal information.
Victims(受害者)
Victims don't have enough knowledge to keep themselves safe online. Their personal information can be made public and cause problems for them. To avoid being a victim, you should check your personal settings on social media. "Friends only" is a good choice for your posts. Don't share your personal information.
Dr. Martin Luther King was a great man who worked for racial equality (种族平等) and civil rights (民权) in the USA. He was born on January 15th, 1929. When he grew older, he was told that he couldn't play with his friends because they were white and he was black.
Young Martin was а good student in school. He finished high school at the age of 15, and in 1948, he got a degree (学位) from Morehouse College. In 1951, Marin went on to study at Boston University and got another degree in 1955.
After he finished college, Dr. King became a minister (牧师) and moved to Alabama. During the 1950s, Dr. King did a lot for civil rights and racial equality. So he won the Nobel Peace Prize (诺贝尔和平奖) in 1964.
On the evening of April 4th, 1968, Martin Luther King was killed. To remember him, people celebrate Martin Luther King Day each year on the third Monday in January. Also, August 28th, the day of Dr. King's I have a dream speech, is called "Dream Day".
A man was sitting in the park watching the ducks on the pond, when a woman came near him. She had a white dog with her.
She sat down on a chair, took out of a magazine and began to read.
The dog was sitting between her and the man.
After he had been sitting quietly for about ten minutes, the dog turned and looked up at the man.
"Excuse me," the dog whispered (低语), "but you look like a kind man. Please buy me from this awful woman".
The man could hardly believe his ears. A dog was whispering to him, in English.
"She is so mean to me," the dog continued. "She never pets me or plays with me. She doesn't feed me properly and she often beats me when she is unhappy, which is most of the time. "
The man was amazed to hear the dog say all this. He was even more surprised when the dog added, "And I am really a very good dog. I'm quite famous, too. I won a medal in the last war and was twice wounded in action. I've saved three children———two from drowning and one from a fire. "
The man decided that he would try to buy the dog from the woman. He would pay a lot of money if necessary.
The dog would soon earn tens of thousands of dollars on television. It would be the world's first talking dog.
"Excuse me," he said to the woman, "but I love your little dog. Will you sell him to me?"
"I'll be pleased to sell him," the woman said. "You can have him for ten dollars. "
"Ten dollars!" the man said. "Only ten dollars? Why so little?"
"Because, " the woman said, "he's a trouble-making liar (说谎者)."
Long, long ago, there was a family of three bears who lived in a house in the forest. They were Father Bear, Mother Bear and Baby Bear. Each one had a dish. And the dish was just the right size. Father Bear had a large dish, Mother Baby had a medium sized dish, and Baby bear was very small, so he had a very small dish. And it was the same with their chairs and beds too.
Everything was just the right size for each bear. One morning, the bears made some porridge for breakfast and served it in their dishes. As the porridge was very hot they decided to go for a short walk while the power porridge was cooling down. It was a beautiful morning. The sun was shining and the birds were singing. While they were out, a very rude little girl called Goldilocks came to the house. She looked through the kitchen window and saw the dishes of porridge on the table. "Hmm, porridge!" She said to herself, she went inside the house. Her mother told her not to do this. But Goldilocks was an impolite little girl. In the kitchen, she tried Father bear's porridge. She didn't like it because it had too much salt. Then she tried Mother Bear's porridge. She didn't like it because it didn't have enough salt. Then she tried Baby Bear's porridge. It was delicious. And so he she ate it all up. In the end, she lay down on baby bear's bed. It was very comfortable

I expect (buy) them all. The boy began to count and found they came to five dollars. "There (be) your money, " said the man. The boy took it, well pleased with his morning's trade. After (give) the money, the man opened the cage door and let all the birds (fly) away. The boy, in great surprise, cried. "What did you do that for, sir? You have lost all your birds. When I was in high school, I worked helping Dad sell fruits and vegetables at the market. One day as I was preparing the fruits, a little boywith his mom and sister. He was about eight years old, and the girl, five or six. They were looking at the fruits_me. I heard the kids say to their mom (in French). "They are good!" I knew it was French, because I can speak and understand it.
Then I noticedthe mom was picking the fruits. At first I thought she was really looking at the fruits because he was facing them, but then I noticed how much she had to feel and each one as she picked them out. And she often asked her son if it looked OK, but looked away above where his face was. Putting what I saw together, I was sure she was blind.
Both of the kids continued to help their mom the fruits. The son made sure the fruits were not obviously bad, and the daughterthem to her mom. The woman then felt each one and smiled, and the daughter would put them into the basket. The kids were smiling while helping their mom pick the fruits out.
Their smile and gentle manner me in a way that never happened before. It was so beautiful to see such young kids so willingly help. Most kidswould be picking out candies or toys in a store for themselves, instead of helping their mom pick out fruits, as the two kids did.
It was great to witness (见证) the moment, but not so great because I didn't tell the mom how beautiful her children were in their language. This is I regret (遗憾) to this day
