Some people have very good memories and can1learn quite long poems by heart. 2 people have poor memories and can't remember things 3 they have said them over and over again. The famous English writer, Charles Dickens, said that he could walk down any long street in 4 and then tell you the names of all the shops he had 5. Many great men of the world have wonderful memories. A good memory is a great help 6 a language. Everybody learns7own language by remembering the things he heard when he was a small child. Some children like those who live in foreign countries with their parents, seem to learn two languages as8as they do one. In school it is not so easy for pupils to learn a second language because they have very 9 time for it. Memory 10 a diary that we keep every day.

A. Try different hobbies B. Don't push your interests to your child C. Share a hobby with your child D. Match your child's interests E. The importance of hobbies |
Helping your child choose a hobby is very good for him /her. They can learn a lot when they are enjoying themselves. Hobbies are a great way for children to learn new things. From kite building to song writing, help your children to try different interests.
If she likes to cook, buy her a cookbook. If he enjoys collecting baseball cards, buy him a special scrapbook. Show your interest and support their interests.
Introduce a new hobby as a birthday or holiday gift. In trying something completely different, your child may become interested in it or at least get to know a new thing.
Take an art class as a family. Go for a mountain climbing together. Spending family time doing fun things can make healthy and nice relationship.
Let children choose their own interests, though you can always introduce them to a new one. Don't show your disappointment if they choose something different from what you thought of.
Recently a new lifestyle called low carbon (碳) life is spreading every corner of our country. The meanings of low carbon are low energy and no waste. It is so important a project that I can't wait to express my ideas on how to promote(推动) it.
First, we should set up a no-car day every week in our school. Because cars not only bring serious air pollution but also waste energy. On the no-car day, neither students nor teachers are allowed to drive to school, just walk or run. Use our legs and enjoy the fun.
Second, we had better not use plastic bags. No one can stand the "white pollution", so it is wise to use cloth bags which can be used again and again.
Finally, one thing that we should remember is that every big thing comes from small details (细节). So, as students, we should turn off the lights the moment we leave, use both sides of paper, and reuse our textbooks and so on.
All in all, it weighs greatly for all of us to put the low carbon lifestyle into practice. Just set our mind to these: no-car days, no plastic bags, and no waste. Let's do it now.

In November 1979, pupils in England were able (watch) a new TV program called Monkey. Most of them were hearing this story for the first time. H, this story is not new to Chinese children. The Monkey King or Sun Wukong is the main character in the (tradition) Chinese book Journey to the West.
The Monkey King is not just any normal monkey. In fact, he sometimes does not even look l a monkey! This is because he can make 72 changes to his shape and size, (turn) himself into different animals and objects. But unless he can hide his tail, he cannot turn (he) into a man. To fight bad people, the Monkey King uses a magic stick. Sometimes he can make the stick s small that he can keep it in his ear. At other times, he is able to make it big and long.
The Monkey King has excited the children of China for many years. And as soon as the TV program came o more than 30 years ago, Western children became interested i reading this story because the clever Monkey King keeps (fight) to help the weak and never gives up.
Li Wei's College Dream
Li Wei, a 22-year-old young man is named "Strong Brother" by netizens (网友). He walked on his knees all the way to the 2011 national college entrance examination
(高考) room. He was born in a poor family in Shanxi province. But unluckily, a traffic accident took away his legs when he was only 3 years old. His life has changed since then. Without feet, he had to spend most of his time practicing walking on his hands and knees. Everybody who sees Li Wei for the first time is surprised to see that he can easily play tennis or climb up stairs without feet. Some people even think he still has feet, but has short legs.
With hard work, Li Wei finished all his school study. In 2011, he became a college student in Chongqing Normal University. Now he has been enjoying his college life. And he received a new pair of artificial legs(假肢) from China Disabled Person's Federation(残联).He likes the popular song which says"I know my future is not a dream, I will live happily for every minute of my life. My future is not a dream. My heart moves with the hope…". Follow your dream, and it will come true one day.
