Onions may be one of the1vegetables in the world, they are pretty good for our body. However, cutting them is no2.
It will make you cry. However, your teary-eyed (眼含泪水的) days in the kitchen may come to an end. A Japanese company created the first kind of onions that will change this kind of things.
Japanese researchers (研究人员) spent 20 years doing this. The onion wouldn't make people cry when they cut it, and it is a new kind of onion: the Smile Ball. It looks like the common onions we see. But it is a bit3the common ones. It doesn't have the same4as the onion we bought before. When it's eaten raw (生的), it tastes sweet(甜的), like an apple. More importantly, when you cut it, it puts a smile on your face. But the price was not low. You have to5450 yen, or about 28 yuan for a pair, twice as expensive as the common ones.

My school in the US just opened, but the COVID-19 is still a problem there. I had to stay in China and took online classes that were given by my school in Boston.
My teachers try to make their classes more interesting. My English teacher shows us memes (表情包) and plays music as part of her class.
Because of the time difference, I have to stay up late. I have to set alarms (定闹钟) to wake me up, as class goes from 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a. m., while in China we start at 8:00 a. m. Because I'm the only student in my class who is studying online, my teachers like to put me on a big screen. Everyone can see me yawn (打哈欠) clearly.
After my classes are over, I go to sleep at once. Sometimes, I try to enjoy the sun going up beautifully for a while. So far, so good!

It was midnight. Zhang Yong's phone, how-ever, was still busy. The messages were all from food suppliers (供应商). The man carefully read them. He was trying to get enough food for the people in his neighborhood.
Shanghai was suffering from(遭受) the serious COVID-19. Since mid-March, Zhang kept volunteering in his neighborhood to help people out. After days of lockdown, many families began to run out of food. It was hard for them to order food online as there were few drivers. Group buying worked better. But it needed a coordinator(统筹者). As the youngest among all the volunteers in the neighborhood, Zhang decided to work as the role.
He began by ordering 60 boxes of milk for his neighborhood. After this success, more and more people joined his WeChat group. It was a hard work. ▲ Sometimes, some members didn't pay on time. Zhang often couldn't go to bed until 2 a. m. and he had to get up at 6 a. m. to order things. However, he felt happy to be able to help others.
You are lucky if you've been well fed in the past several weeks. But you must not forget all the hard work behind the food.
