Moon is a photographer from Los Angeles, the US. She is interested in old trees so she likes to travel around the world and take photos of them. By doing so, she wants people to protect and care about those old trees.
Moon began taking photos of trees twenty years ago. At that time, she lived in England. She saw an old yew (紫杉树) in the countryside. After that, she fell in love with trees. She went to different islands, forests and mountains to take photos of those old trees.
The job was not easy, but Moon loved it. To take the best pictures, she always needed to think about lots of things. "I have to carefully think about the best time to take photos of each tree." she said.
Later, Moon's book about her photos, Ancient Trees: Portraits of Time, came out. There are sixty black —and—white photos in the book. They take readers into the wonderful world of trees.

A woman was walking down the street when she saw a beggar sitting on the corner. "Sir?" she asked. "Are you all right?"
The beggar slowly looked up. This was a woman who clearly had a good life. He thought she wanted to make fun of him, like so many others had done before. "Leave me alone!?" he said angrily.
The woman didn't move. Instead, she tried to pick him up. "What are you doing?" the man shouted.
"Don't you remember me?" the woman asked.
The beggar watched her carefully and said, "You do look familiar (熟悉的)."
She said, "We first met when you worked in the restaurant over there several years ago. At the time, I was just out of college and came to the city to look for a job. But I couldn't find anything. I walked the streets for days. It was February and I was cold and hungry. I saw the restaurant and walked in."
"Now I remember," the man said. "You asked me if I could give you some food."
"Yes," the woman continued. "Then you bought me a big sandwich."
"So you found a job later?" the man asked.
"Yeah. I worked hard and started my own business." She opened her wallet and pulled out a card. "I want you to pay a visit to the manager of my company later. He'll help you find something to do," she smiled and said.
The man's eyes filled with tears. "How can I thank you?" he asked. "Don't thank me," the woman answered. "Thank yourself first."
Lucy Hughes, a 25-year-old English inventor, used fish skin and scales (皮和鳞) to create a new kind of plastic. Her invention won the James Dyson Award last year.
James Dyson is a famous English inventor. In 2004 he created the James Dyson Award as a way to encourage students to use their creativity to solve problems in the real world.
Lucy Hughes studied how to design (设计) products at Sussex University in England. As a designer, Hughes was very clear about how wasteful many products were. She decided to make something out of waste instead. Hughes spent some time studying the fishing business and the things that were thrown away. After some tests, Hughes decided that the fish skin and scales seemed like the most suitable parts for her product Hughes tried over 100 different experiments. She called her finished product MarinaTex.
MarinaTex feels like plastic, but it's stronger than common plastic. And MarinaTex is cheap to make since it's made from fish waste. The process (过程) of making MarinaTex doesn't use much energy. Most importantly, MarinaTex doesn't take hundreds of years to break down. On its own, MarinaTex breaks down in four to six weeks. James Dyson said, "With the further development of MarinaTex, I believe there will be less single—use plastic waste. As for the fish skin and scales, usually, they are removed and end up being burmed. MarinaTex has made it possible to make use of the fish waste.
Hughes is trying to make Marina Tex even better. She hopes the award money will help her with the process of bringing Marina Tex into use as quickly as possible.

On winter nights, most of us stay inside our warm homes. Few of us about the homeless. These people have no but to sleep in the street. Some of them are poor that they have no money to buy food.
A young man in Birmingham, England, decided to something about this. Every night at 9, he puts on a Spider-Man suit (套装) and gives food to people in need. In fact, the 25-year-old has done this since 2015. The man refuses to make his name so the local people call him "Birmingham Spider-Man".
The man said he wore the Spider-Man suit in to draw attention. Without the suit, people took a look at him when he was handing out food. When people see "Spider-Man", , they come over and ask what he is doing. Many people even offer to give money to him. But the young man never it. Instead, he encourages people to go out and help others. In opinion, the cold winter nights won't be so cold any more if more people give a helping hand.
