I had an opportunity to teach at a five-star hotel in Nevis, a small island in the Caribbean Sea. After that, my friend Clayton and I flew into Panama City for a surfing outing at a surfing camp in the bay of Chiriqui, whose tourism is booming. To get there, we had to take my tennis bags on and off several buses and boats. After eight hours of travel we finally arrived. The camp was perfect, and the accommodations were not bad. We had an unbelievable week there!

On our return trip, when we got to the bus station, we learned that our bus had been delayed for 2.5 hours. The sun was beating down on us.

As we walked over to the shaded area, a couple of kids started throwing rocks at me. I opened a can of tennis balls. They stopped and took an interest in the balls. I had a special racket (球拍) with me. I had the strings cut out and replaced them with a net, which is prefect for hotel teaching. I got them to throw the balls into the net. They seemed to enjoy that. Then an older boy got interested, to whom I gave another racket to hit the ball into the net of the catching racket. I showed him how to position and hold the racket. Soon, their bus arrived, and they were on their way.

But families from across the street came over and wanted their 10-minute tennis lesson, too. The other passengers waiting for the bus each got a lesson. Eventually, restaurant workers next door and the bus terminal clerk invited me to give them a lesson, too. They learnt well and were having a great time. And so was I. In what seemed like no time, our bus arrived. Satisfied with what I did, I changed my shirt, and made it back to Panama City.

    1. (1) Which can describe the bay of Chiriqui?
A . It develops depending on tourism. B . It is famous for its tennis camps. C . It offers cheap accommodations. D . It is far away from Panama City.
    2. (2) Why did the author have a special racket?
A . To attract children. B . To catch the rocks. C . To help him to teach. D . To hit the balls back.
    3. (3) What were the children doing at the shaded area when the author arrived?
A . Waiting for the bus. B . Learning to play tennis. C . Fighting for the shaded area. D . Playing games with each other.
    4. (4) How did the author feel at the bus station in the end?
      A . Embarrassed. B . Confident. C . Amazed. D . Proud.

"Hungary?" I looked at my school headmaster in confusion. "I never mentioned wanting to go to Hungary." And with that, my adventure started.

My name is Jonathan Diamond and I just finished an amazing exchange year in Hungary.

Going on an exchange had always been my dream. When my high school offered an all-year program, I jumped at the opportunity. It would pay for almost everything and all I had to do was get a plane ticket. I knew where I wanted to go: Spain, the country of dancers wearing flowing red dresses. So when I heard that I was going to Hungary, I was pretty shocked. But I decided to make the best of it, since it was, after all, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Before I knew it, I was on the airplane, leaving for Budapest International Airport, Hungary.

I had times when I almost gave up. Hungarian is the hardest language on the planet. Cultural differences occasionally embarrassed both my peer teens and me. I had to give up eating carrots, my beautiful favorite, for they think carrots are rubbish in their country. The change in the landscape was amazing, looking nothing like skyscrapers, bullet trains, cars, and people in tiny houses that I had been accustomed to. Gradually, I fell in love with the relaxing lifestyle, the warm-hearted people, and getting home at 2:30 p. m. at the latest from school. And I was sad to leave on my very last day.

Having the host family who took me as one of their own members was the best thing I have ever experienced. From my little sisters, I learned how to embrace life to its fullest. From my brothers I learned that it's OK for a boy to run around the house. From my host parents I learned to stay positive, to smile, and that when you pick the right persons and take their hands, suddenly, you become friends.

    1. (1) How did Jonathan feel when he was told to go to Hungary?
A . Excited and satisfied. B . Confused and shocked. C . Amazed and embarrassed. D . Delighted and interested.
    2. (2) Why did Jonathan still decide to go to Hungary instead of Spain?
A . He didn't like Spain. B . He wanted to learn Hungarian. C . It was a rare chance. D . Going to Hungary was much cheaper.
    3. (3) What can we learn about Jonathan during his stay in Hungary?
A . He fell in love with eating carrots. B . He couldn't wait to leave. C . He was surprised by the landscape. D . He quickly got used to the life there.
    4. (4) According to Jonathan, the host family________.
A . changed him completely B . taught him how to dance well C . treated him as equally as a student D . showed him the good things of life

The Moon's near side, the one we all see, has been the target of many robotic and human missions. However, its far side, also (call)the dark side because it faces away from the Earth and little (know)about it, has never been explored. That changed on Jan.2, 2019, when Chinese spacecraft Chang'e 4 made a soft landing on is often referred to as the dark side.

I was always a big fan of football, and watching a game at the stadium was obviously one of the best ways to be free from work and relax. Therefore, as soon as I heard the news that there would be a game of our home team against the team from Mississippi, I booked a front-row seat, excited about having a fantastic weekend I was excited when I sat in the stadium.

When the game began, however, I discovered that I was sitting directly in front of a Super-lungs. He seemed like a nice guy. But his idea of having fun at a football game was obviously nothing like mine,or most well-behaved football fans'. He yelled (大喊) non-stop as loud as he could. He yelled at the coaches, the players, the officials and the Mississippi State fans. Always at the top of his lungs.

The Super-lungs made an surprising performance and kept it for us for the entire 90 minutes and never showed any sign of tiredness. He was caught up in his own world so he failed to notice he was ruining (破坏) hundreds of others' experience of watching the game.

I felt that my ear drums (耳鼓) almost got broken. His mouth was only two feet away from my ears. For a while I thought of shouting back and stopping him yelling. People around were turning to look at him, and I could read their thoughts: "Is he never going to stop?" And he seemed not to see those looks.

At halftime I escaped by walking for a few minutes outside the stadium. I was thinking of finding an empty seat in another part of the stadium. However, to my disappointment, the seats were all taken. I had no choice but to go back to the Super-lungs. When returning to my seat, I missed my steps and fell heavily on the stairs. As I was struggling (挣扎) to stand up, a pair of huge hands helped me from behind.

    注意:

    1)续写词数应为150左右;

    2)请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。

I looked back and saw the Super-lungs' smiling face and concerned eyes.

The Super-lungs kept shouting for another 90 minutes.
