More people like talking about winning and try to win every time. To win, some people even see everyone around as1. They think2necessary to beat others in the modern world which is full of different competitions. In their eyes, things always have one result, success3failure. Success means winning4failure means losing. So more and more conflicts(矛盾)keep happening. In our daily life, it seems that selfish(自私)things happen more than before. A student may refuse to help others because he wants to be better than others. He's worried that others may become better than him5his help. He hopes others can't do better than him in every subject then he'll feel relaxed and happy. Let's imagine if everyone in his class is weak6himself, can he try his best to learn better? At the same time, other better classes have7students better than him, how will he improve himself? You will say, "He will ask other classmates for help," but don't forget who he can ask for help. Nobody else is better than him. In fact, he cannot win8in every subject. Why not create a win-win situation for himself? In the9situation, if in a class, everyone tries to help others in their stronger subjects, they will totally improve, then they will keep improving on a higher level. Have you every thought why some class has most of the top students in the same grade? That's it, a win-win situation10by working together. The world is full of not only conflicts caused by competing with others but also peace brought by cooperating with others. The best success means a win-win result, doesn't it?

One day, while I was sitting in my car in a parking area, I noticed a young boy in front of my car. "What is the boy doing?" I asked myself and looked closely. "Oh, he is picking up a coin from the ground?" When he stood up, we saw each other clearly. He was about ten years old and was wearing one blue glove and one brown glove. His coat was too small for him.
As he walked away, I saw his shoes, which were too old to wear. I rolled down my window and called him over. He stopped and turned around to look at me. I asked him if he needed some money. He replied, "No. That's okay." The parking area was wet. I could tell that his feet were cold because he kept moving his weight from one foot to the other. "Please," I held out a five-dollar bill (纸币)."It's not much, but when the money is shared, it is much more useful," I said. After hearing my kind words, he took off one of his gloves and reached for the money. His small hand was red and cold. He smiled and went away after saying "Thank you" to me. That smile made me feel warm from the bottom of my heart in the cold winter.
You probably have the childhood memories of watching the Slinky walk its way down the stairs. The helical (螺旋形的) spring toy was invented by Richard James in 1943. While James was testing ways to keep equipment safe on the U. S. Navy Ships, one of the springs fell and began to "walk". Seeing the spring can be marketed as a toy, he took the idea home to his wife Betty, who named it the Slinky after looking through a dictionary.
In 1945, James perfected the design of the Slinky, which was about 24 metres of wire shaped into a helical five centimetre-tall spring. The new product was a hit: By the end of the 1945 holiday season 22, 000 Slinkys had been sold. It went on to become the must-have toy of the mid to late 20th century. Many reasons have been given for the Slinky's popularity: "It's cheap." "It teaches kids physics." "Children love simple things." and so on.
As a child, making a Slinky step perfectly from the top of the stairs to the bottom is exciting. The Slinky gets its "walking" ability from two properties: wave motions and Newton's laws. Sitting at the top of the stairs, the Slinky remains-unchanged, like all objects that are not being moved by other forces. When the Slinky is knocked off the first step, gravity acts upon its coil. Then energy is transferred (传递) from coil to coil until it arrives at the end of the slinky, which makes it stretch to reach the next step down, reform itself, then stretch again to reach the next step, and so on.

I think our school days are the best and happiest days in our life. We should learn not to waste this wonderful period of time.
Be active. We should be interested in the school life and school subjects. We should join lots of activities. It will make us look friendly if we walk around the school with a smile. Remember that the school isn't a vacation spot (度假胜地).
Keep fit. If we don't get enough sleep, we will feel sleepy in class. In order to keep our body fit, we should also eat less junk food.
Some students always say that they will study hard tomorrow. Actually, if we fall behind, it's very difficult for us to catch up.
Everyone fails in some tests, loses some matches or has some bad days. We should try not to let small things influence our mood(情绪).

During my first year of high school, I was a skinny(干瘦)boy who just 55kg. I dreamed of being a football star. I played a little bit, but spent most of my time on the bench(板凳). , I found a special diet to put on weight successfully. By the time football season started, I felt ready. However, I was soon disappointed when I saw that I was still smaller and than most of the other boys. I found on the bench again. When the coach sent me to play halfback(前卫)for a while, I was so . However, on the first play, I challenges. I was soon hit by the other team's players.
Over the years, I had dreamed of something. However, I failed again and again. I hated this for a long time. I didn't realize that maybe the plans for me are better than my own until I became a successful football commentator(评论员).

Free skier Eileen Gu is still a teenager when she won the historic gold in the women's free-ski (自由滑雪) big air of the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games. It is the first gold medal that a Chinese player has got on snow events in the Winter Olympic Games.
Gu started sports on the snow at the age of 3, was competing in national competitions at 9 and won her first World Cup event at 15. With a Chinese mother and an American father, Gu was born and raised in San Francisco, California, but surprised US sports experts when she announced in 2019 that she would compete for China.
Not only did Gu do well in sports, but she also got excellent grades at school. She plans to attend Stanford University, a top university in the U.S., thanks to her 1,580 SAT score out of a possible 1,600, and a long list of achievements. She is due to start her studies in the fall of 2022.
What makes a professional athlete also a top student in the classroom? Gu concluded that her secrets are "passion(激情), focus and balance (平衡)." "I'm not skiing just for the Olympic Games. I'm skiing for my passion for the sport. I started skiing at a young age because I love the feeling of snow. Only when you do the things you have passion for can you put all your heart into that."
