Li Yang is a Chinese boy with good habits. He has the same daily routine(日常生活) from Monday to Friday.
He usually gets up at six in the morning. He takes a shower and brushes his teeth after getting up. Then he gets dressed at a quarter past six. At half past six, he eats a healthy breakfast before going to school. He always goes to school by bus.
He has four classes in the morning. He eats lunch at school at twelve. He has three classes in the afternoon. After school, he plays basketball with his classmates for an hour. He is a member(成员) of the school sports club. At about a quarter past six, he goes home.
He eats dinner at seven. After dinner, he does his homework first. At about nine, he prepares his schoolbag. He puts the books and the homework for the next day in his schoolbag. Then he brushes his teeth and goes to bed.
Boys and girls, do you usually take many ways of getting to school for different distances(距离) between the school and your home? Here are four ways for American students to go to school.
In America, people like school buses, and they can see a lot of yellow buses running on and off the streets on school days. These buses send(送) children to school in the morning. Then they take the students home in the afternoon.
Students in America also like to ride a bike to school. But they must wear helmets(头盔) to keep safe(安全的). Their City Government tells students to go to school by bike. Scott Stringer thinks it is very useful for students to keep healthy.
What about taking a bus to school? It's a cheap way for children in the USA. But the buses in America don't stop at every stop. Students get to their stops and they need to tell the driver. Then the driver stops the bus at the stop.
Many American families have cars. But parents only drive their children to school on rainy or snowy days. Some of them do this because they live far away from school.

Ann and her friends are in the Helping Hands Club. In this club, they help others in many ways. They make money by washing cars.

The Helping Hands Club has an activity to raise toys. They ask people to bring some toys. Then they give the toys to a place. There are many children and they don't have toys. The next day Tim says, "Mr. Smith hurts his leg and can't clean his house." The kids come to help him and they feel very happy.
Every week many kids join the club and they find people in need. Then they help them.
