I returned home the other night, tired. My husband asked me how my evening was. "Great." I told him. I had spent 90 minutes in a gym with 10 ping-pong tables and all kinds of players, all of whom were playing little balls over the net. By 9 p. m, I was tired but excited and satisfied. I had beaten two young men half my age and lost battles against other competitors. For an observer, the night was common, but for me, it was lucky experience that I hadn't expected.
I had taken up ping-pong during college, and in my 30s, I took more advanced lessens. However, a serious accident hurt my leg, which made me unable to take exercise anymore. Months later, I tried to play ping-pong, but my leg had pained for a week. Since then, I put the game out of my mind.
When I was 53, one day my bad leg was working a little bit better. Could I play ping-pong now—in my condition, at my age? After thinking for a while, I tried to play ping-pong again.
Ping-pong is a sport which requires endurance(耐力). players need quick foot work and upper body movements to return balls, requiring faster response time compared to tennis.
Playing ping-pong offers benefits to the human brain. A study investigated 164 women aged 60 and above. The study showed that playing ping-pong could improve people's cognitive(认知) function more, compared with dancing, walking or doing gymnastics. "The greatest thing about this sport is that it can be played by anyone," said Jimmy Butler, a four-time national USA Table Tennis Association winner.
Years passed and my endurance improved. I began to win the games again and again. People started to praise my shots. I felt wonderful, and I believe this sport is the fountain(源泉)of youth.
The sky is extremely blue, and the sun shines on the head of gargoyle (滴水嘴怪兽) of the Ponte Neuve in Paris, where Mr. Gallais has been peddling (叫卖)dusty classic books to various tourists for more than 30 years.

However, as lockdown bans to control the COVID-19 pandemic promulgated(公布), the booksellers had to face the problem of losing the tourists these years. Many of them are worrying this time might be the last period for the centuries-old profession that is regarded as a landmark to the Louver and Note Dame.
Sales have decreased by an average of 80 percent this year, Mr. Callais said, which throwing many booksellers into dangerous situations. Still, some booksellers want to work. They are eager to keep the tradition that dates back to the 16th century. many of the booksellers are retired workers living on pensions(养老金). They are the collectors of literature and magazines. A growing number of people in their 30s and 40s have joined their ranks. They are attracted by the freedom of working outside an office in rain or shine.
Even before the pandemic, the booksellers were fighting with the cultural changes that people don't read physical books as much as they used to. If they do read physical books, most readers often chose Amazon to buy books.
A mother goat pick out her own baby from its voice alone by the time the kid is just five years old.
Researchers from University of London played kids' bleats to female goats and studied their responses. They were surprised to find that the animals were able to pick out their own kids' voice.
"The mother and the kid rely a lot on smell to recognize one another and the animals hide in grass and don't call much in the wild during the first week of their lives. It's a strategy they use to avoid enemies," Dr. Elodie Briefer explained to BBC News, who led the research. "The mother calls to the kids when she wants them to come and be feed, so we expected that kids would recognize the mother' voices." In fact, this was the case for deer, which also use this hiding strategy, although they do not belong to the same family of species as goats.
She and her team recorded and played the young kids' calls to the female goats and recorded their responses. She explained, "Even when the calls came from kids that are five to six days old, we could see the mothers responding more to the voices of their own babies." Hearing the voices of their own kids, the females would look towards the speaker that the sound was coming from, moving around and calling in response.
The scientists say that understanding how goats behave and communicate is of great importance. "This helps us understand just how smart these animal are," said Dr. Briefer. "Farmers might be able to change their way to raise goats considering this natural behavior."

I was in the beginning stage of Lyme disease. My 5 and medication caused my overweight. I was too 6 for the kids costumes and the adult costumes wouldn't 7for me.
The lady at the shop said, "I'm sorry, she's too fat to be a princess." I was only 10 years old, and I was 8 because I thought I would never be 9 enough or skinny enough to be the princess that I wanted to be.
Several years later, I just turned 16, and instead of a party, I asked for a family 10. I chose to go to Disney World. Our trip was right in the middle of Halloween, and I knew I could wear a costume. It was still 11 to find a princess dress in my 12, but my mom and I decided to make our own, a magical princess dress to prove to my 10-year-old self that I am a princess, and I don't have to look for a certain 13 to be one.
I've 14 that no matter what you look like, you can be a princess. A princess isn't a size. It's a state of 15.
