Yesterday I had this feeling of wanting to fish by the St. Louis river. As I got to the river bank, I saw two pairs of married couples fishing. And a father was in his sailboat while his son was swimming right beside his sailboat. As I put my boat into the water to fish, everything seemed to be OK at least at the moment. The wind was becoming a little stronger and so were the waves (波浪) at a quicker rate. I watched the father pulling his anchor (锚). His son continued swimming.
Ten minutes later, as I was in what I believed at the time was a big fish. I heard a scream that no parent ever wants to hear. The sound was a child screaming for his life as he was being washed away by the water.
I looked around. There was neither his dad nor the two pairs of married couples in sight. I then dropped my fishing line and rowed as quickly as I could to the kid. I quickly got the kid to calm down and pulled him onto the shore.
I was worried about how cold he was so I called first-aid medical services. At this time, his father appeared. I stayed long enough to watch the father reunite with his son.
Officers interviewed the child's father and learned they were sailing on the river when the boy wanted to swim next to the boat, holding an attached (依附的) rope. The boy lost hold of the rope, and the wind pushed the sailboat away from the boy.

Most people think that regular (有规律的) exercise does health wonders for people, but what exactly are its health benefits (益处)?
To start with, research suggests regular exercise can help make people's body strong. It helps cut down on the number of different diseases people face each year. Regular exercise throughout the year helps the working quality of people's heart become better and lower blood pressure. During exercise, people's heart must work harder so that it can make blood go throughout the body. This extra effort makes it grow stronger over the long term. At the same time, as little as 30 minutes per day can help to lower blood pressure. It helps move away things that are all linked to having high blood pressure.
Exercise has a good effect on people's mind and spirit too. If you are suffering from stress and sadness, regular gentle exercise is one way to improve your full sense of happiness. The way that exercise improves people's mental state is by moving away the bad effect of stress that swims into their bodies, helping them find deep calm.
Some studies even show that exercise keeps people's skin fit. Exercise helps keep skin cells alive and healthy by increasing blood flow. Blood carries oxygen and nutrients to working cells throughout the body, including the skin. In addition to providing oxygen, blood flow also helps carry away waste products. You can think of it just like cleaning your skin from the inside.
However, we should know that when suffering from an illness, try not to finish all your plan for exercise. The body needs time to recover. Strong exercise can be harmful to the immune system (免疫系统) when it is already under pressure. Instead, take a gentle walk when falling ill to help recovery.
So, now you know the benefits of exercise and how to do it properly. What are you waiting for?

I had an independent and clever dog named Stickeen. He enjoyed the delicious food that my family prepared for him every day. He often ran out of my sight when walking with me.
Early one morning, I went to explore a nearby glacier(冰川). Stickeen followed me, and together we went upon the glacier. Later. I discovered that we were trapped between two very deep cracks(裂缝) in the glacier. The only way across it was a very thin ice that connected the cracks. I made a path across the"bridge"and got to the other side. But my dog was afraid to have a try and began to cry. After taking another careful look at the large cracks, he ran away hopelessly to find some other crossings. By the time he got back, he was confused of course.
When I reached the other side, he screamed louder than ever, and after running back and forth without searching for a good way to escape, he would return to the edge(边缘) of the crack, crying as if in the sadness of death. I called again and again in a sure voice to come on and fear nothing, but he would think for a moment. look down again at the"bridge", and shout his unshakable thought that he could never, never come that way, and then lie back hopelessly, as if screaming, "O-o-oh!What a place!Noo-o, I can never go-o-o down there!"At last, I seriously shouted to him that now I must certainly leave him and I could wait no longer if he could not come.
