Requirements
Family journeys are designed for groups traveling with kids between the ages of 7 and 17. Your group must include a kid to book, and anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
In 2017, besides a full-time job, I also coached two basketball teams. I remember the days when we had a quick meal in the car after work and tried to figure out which soccer game, basketball game, or family event we were driving towards. We just intentionally created family time to connect with each other.
One day when I finished a playhouse for the kids, three-year-old Matthew came and asked to help. "Sorry, kid, but I'm all done," I replied. "Oh no..."cried Matthew. Now, any three-year-old crying after missing a project with their dad would be sweet. Crying Matthew looked like a newborn cat, melting a heart of stone. But what could I do? I had finished the project and now I had to disappoint the little boy. Suddenly I realized, "he just wants to do any project with me. Just make one up!"
I caught two pieces of useless wood, "You see this wood here? I need these two pieces of wood to be held together really tight. Can you help me?"
As light smile was on his face, "Yes!"
The result was a pleased little boy whose heart was full. What I saw was two pieces of junk wood. What he saw was the connection with his father. He saw companionship, priority (优先权), worth and a place to belong to.
Parents always think, "I'll create family time next Saturday." But you don't always have to do big things to fill children's hearts. In fact the simple act of being present means the world to little hearts. Look at that face! Those are the eyes of a little one who received nothing. And everything.
Group exercise is one of the most helpful ways to improve physical fitness and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Group exercise is challenging, yet fun and empowering! Of course, everyone knows that exercise is good for the body. However, studies have shown that when exercise is performed in groups, it's not only great for improving physical health but also for psychological health. It's an opportunity to be social, release endorphins (内啡肽), and improve your strength. Additionally, group exercise creates a community feel and the shared common goal motivates participants to work hard. The instrumental support of taking on a fitness journey with others proves more fruitful than going to the gym alone.
Another benefit of group exercise is the informational support participants receive from the instructor. Many people fear the gym because they feel lost and don't want to embarrass themselves. If you feel you can relate, then group training is an even better choice for you. It's a great opportunity to learn more about fitness through the clear instruction and supervision (监管) of a fitness instructor. If you're tired of wandering around the gym wasting time and becoming bored, you can attend an upbeat group fitness class that'll keep your workout on track. Don't let fitness frighten you!
If you're serious about wanting to live a healthy lifestyle, it's extremely important to surround yourself with people who'll provide you with the proper emotional support. I wouldn't scold ( 训 斥 ) anyone for deciding to party on weekends and in turn I wouldn't expect anyone to give offence to me for focusing on my health. Surround yourself with people who uplift, encourage and understand you! Make fitness even more fun by trying something new or any group fitness class, with a friend. Plan to go for a jog together. Then try a fun healthy restaurant or fresh juice bar! Fitness can be both fun and social!
Surrounding yourself with people who'll provide you with respect and support can do a lot of good while working towards reaching health and fitness goals. First, decide to do it for yourself and work towards staying positive. Then make sure the people you surround yourself with are supportive. Don't let negativity ruin your motivation.
Nowadays, more stores and restaurants are not accepting cash as payment. Instead, customers must pay with a credit card, or by smartphone app.
Many business owners say that being cashless has helped them streamline the way their business runs. Staff members don't have to worry about having enough money in the cash register to make change or about taking bills and coins to the bank.
However, according to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, more than 8 million households in the United States don't have bank accounts. Also, many people, including kids, don't meet the requirements for a credit card.
"A cashless economy is not an inclusive economy. There are consumers who can't get a credit card, because of low income. When stores refuse to accept cash, they exclude low-income or homeless people," says Tazra Mitchell, a policy director at the DC Fiscal Policy Institute.
Plus, people who do have credit cards might prefer to pay in cash. "Cash is used by almost eight in 10 people in the US every month. That's more than any other payment type," says Nick Bourke, a director at the Pew Charitable Trusts' consumer finance project.
Lawmakers in several places have taken steps to ban cashless stores. A handful of major cities — including New. York City and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania — have already passed laws to address the problem. In San Francisco, California, a law banning cashless stores was passed last May. It says most stores in the city must allow customers to pay with cash. Derek Remski helped write the San Francisco law. Remski says, "It's about understanding that not everyone has equal access to things."

Susan knows the 1 of a good doll. "Dolls have a power we don't 2 understand," she said. It's a(n) 3 she came to while working as a social worker using dolls to help her young clients 4 their changing medical situations. Many of the kids saw themselves in those dolls. But for the kids 5 a leg or who had lost their hair, there were none they could relate to.
So, seven years ago, when a friend 6 that her child had been disabled because of a car accident, Susan, now, knew what might help the youth through this potentially 7 period. Susan went about changing that. She crafted a doll 8 which was similar to her friend's child and sent it off.
9 spread, and soon Susan was making dolls for children with scars and birthmarks—in short, a doll that looked like them. She even 10 her job and started a nonprofit, A Doll Like Me.
From photos 11 by parents or caregivers, it takes her 12 seven hours to craft each doll. She hasn't 13 for a doll since she began her nonprofit. The 14 is long, but Susan is unbowed (不屈服的). As she explains, "Every kid, 15 gender, ethnicity, age, medical issue, or body type, should look into the sweet face of a doll and see their own."

A friend of mine whose name was John Smith had a bad memory, which made him famous. He was so forgetful that he sometimes forgot what he was talking about in the middle of a sentence. His wife had to constantly( 经常地)remind him about his meetings, his classes, even his meals! Once he forgot he had eaten breakfast twice, at home and at school. His wife liked to remind her neighbors, "If John didn't have his head tied on, he would forget that too!" Since Smith was a professor at a well-known university, his forgetfulness was often an embarrassment to him. It wasn't that he was not clever, as some critical people tended to say, but just very, very absent-minded.
One hot summer day, Pro. Smith decided to take his children to a seaside town about a three-hour train ride away. To make the trip more interesting for his young children, he kept the name of the town a secret. However, by the time they arrived at the station, Smith forgot the name of the town he was planning to visit. luckily, a friend of his happened to be in the station. He offered to take care of the children while Smith hurried back home to find out where he was going.
The professor's wife was surprised to see him again so soon.
"Oh, my dear, I forgot the name of the town."
"What? You forgot the name? Maybe one day you will forgot my name! Now I'll write the name of that town on a piece of paper, and you put it in your pocket and please, please don't forget where you put it."
Satisfied that she had solved the problem, she sent her husband off again. Ten minutes later she was astonished to see him outside the house for the third time.
