The elephant is the largest living land animal and one of the cleverest, and yet elephants are easily caught. Elephants cannot see clearly if it is not close to them.
Man can get near elephants when he wants to catch them. When the elephant finds man, it would be angry and kill him. But man can run away from it.
There are two kinds of elephants in the world; the Indian elephant and the African elephant. They have ears and teeth. The African elephant is not easily caught.
After Indian elephants have been caught they are easily taught to work. They seem to become pleased and even happy when man is kind them. An Indian elephant quickly learns to know the man's voice. They even know whether (是否) the man is pleased or angry by his voice.

More and more people like bicycling and it is no surprise. It is fun, healthy and good for the environment. Maybe that's why there are 1. 4 billion bicycles and only 400 million cars on roads worldwide today. Bikes can take you almost anywhere, and there is no oil cost!

Traditional Greetings of Welcome
How do people greet visitors? Some shake hands. Some say "hello" or "hi." Some kiss each other on the cheek. However, the world is made up of many 1 cultures. Some cultures have unique customs. People from these cultures greet each other in interesting ways. Do you want to learn about them?

Smiling is the best way of making friends.
When I was thirteen years old, my father found a job in the city. So my family moved there. I also came to a n school near where we live. My old school was far away. At first, I didn't know a in my class. I was very lonely because I was afraid to make friends with my classmates. I couldn't talk to anyone about my problem, and I didn't want my parents to worry about me.
Then one day, something good happened. I was sitting at my desk unhappily as usual while my classmates were t with each other. At that moment, a boy came into the classroom. I didn't know who he was. He passed me and then turned back. He looked at me and s without a word. Suddenly I felt h and warm. That smile change my life. I started to talk with the other classmates and made friends. Day by day, I became closer to everyone in my class.
Thanks to the smile, I have moved on to a new l. Now I believe that the world is what you think it is. So smile at the world and it will smile back.
Cindy's Movie Review
——看了《流浪地球2》之后,Cindy写下了她的感受。
DURING this past winter vacation, I saw The Wandering Earth II with my parents. This sci-fi movie is the second in its series (系列), but it is a prequel (前传) to the first movie.
Before we went to the cinema, I thought I already knew what was going to happen in this prequel. So I didn't think it would be very exciting. It turned out, however, that I was wrong. There is a lot of tension (紧张) and excitement throughout the movie. And it's also a story full of strong emotions. There are some truly heartbreaking moments as well as some heartwarming ones.
The movie is directed by Guo Fan. It stars Wu Jing, Andy Lau and others. In its story, the Sun is quickly growing bigger. The world builds many huge engines to drive the Earth away before the Sun destroys it. People have to race against time to save themselves.
The movie is about three hours long. It shows us many cool futuristic (幻想未来的) technologies. The space elevators (太空电梯), for example, can carry people into space. There is plenty of important information in this movie. It's almost impossible to understand and remember everything. After seeing the movie, I discussed it with my parents and some of my friends. In our discussions, I found many details (细节) that I had missed.
Many people say that The Wandering Earth II is the greatest Chinese sci-fi movie to date (迄今为止). I, too, think it opens up a new era (时代). I'm really looking forward to ____.

If we live a natural, open-air life, we shall have little need of doctors or medicine. Many of our grandmother's ideas on how to keep well have c in recent years. Better habits of life has almost taken the place of the medicine.
It was believed that night air was largely r for fevers and colds. Doctors now say that one of the surest way to keep well is to live and sleep in the open air. I have slept in the open air for some time in winter at the temperature of six degrees b zero. Of course it is foolish for anyone to sleep in rain or snow. The whole idea of open-air sleeping is to breathe fresh air instead of the air full of dust and germs(病菌). If we become outdoor sleepers, coughs and colds will be almost unknown.
One can almost tell a man who sleeps in the open by looking at him. His eye is clear and his cheek rosy. There is no surer way to become well and strong than to get used to this habit. Then you can laugh at the doctor and t the medicine bottles away. I know that many parents will not agree with me, and they will feel that to advise a boy to sleep in the open when the weather is extremely cold is like inviting them to his death. It is a fact that everyone would be h and happier if they follow this idea.
Some doctors have already agreed on this method of sleeping for sick people. In some hospitals even babies are given open-air treatment(治疗). I have been free from any sign of coughs or colds. In the past two years, I have been an outdoor sleeper. Snow sometimes covered the foot of the bed and cold winds blew about my head.
