There are many great stories in Chinese history.And this is one of the most educational stories. 

Kuang Heng was a famous person in the Western Han Dynasty.He was born in a 1  family.He liked reading very much.He needed to 2  in the daytime, so he had to read books during the night.But he didn't have much 3  to buy a candle.

The sun provides sunshine for plants, animals , and people the on Earth.Energy from the sun is called solar energy.It comes in the form of light or heat.Solar energy makes you feel hot.People have used solar energy for thousands of years.Houses were built with windows so that sunlight can get inside and provide heat.The sun's energy can also be used to heat water and even food. 

We can also turn the sunlight into electricity.This is done with solar panels（太阳能电池板）.Solar panels are made up of silicon（硅）.When the sunlight reaches the solar panel, the electrons （电子） in the silicon, move and flow through wires in the solar panel. 

Using this technology , we can run even cars.But what happens when clouds block the solar panels? The electrons in the silicon will stop moving.But this doesn't mean that solar energy can only be used on bright sunny days.Solar panels can have batteries to store（储存）electricity for a rainy day.When the sun is shining, the electricity flows from the solar panels into the batteries.This stored electricity can be used at night or on cloudy days. 

Solar energy is not as expensive as before.The sun produces more energy in one second than people have used since the beginning of time.Just imagine what we could do if we used the sun's energy to power our Earth.

First Chinese astronaut with glasses flew into space

Shenzhou XVI spaceship successfully reached space on May 30.There are three people onboard （在飞船上）：Jing Haipeng, 57, Zhu Yangzhu, 37, and Gui Haichao, 37. 

They are special in many ways.Jing is now the most experienced astronaut in China.This is the fourth time for him to fly into space.Gui is a scientist.He is also the first Chinese civilian （平民） on a spaceflight. 

Both Zhu and Gui are China's third-generation astronauts.They were picked in 2020 from a group of researchers （研究人员） and engineers.One woman and 17 men were picked.And they are in three groups.One group is spacecraft pilots.They "fly" the spaceship.Another group is spaceflight engineers.They "fix" the spaceship.There is also a group of science payload specialists （专家）, such as Gui.They do scientific studies in space. 

Everything in the spaceship is a payload, such as machines, people, and animals.Science payload specialists are scientists onboard. 

Gui's glasses also draw people's attention because astronauts aren't usually nearsighted （近视的）.But picking specialists is different from picking other astronauts.It's safe to wear glasses in the space station.However, during the launch （发射） and return, Gui needs to take off the glasses. 

Or there might be problems as the glasses may vibrate （振动） with the spacecraft.

Fires do happen.If there is a fire, you might not have much time to decide what to do.Being prepared and knowing what to do early can save your life.  Your family should practice this getting-out plan.  If you have such a meeting place outside, you can quickly make sure that everyone is out of the house. 

You should also remember that smoke is usually far more dangerous than the fire.A person can die after just a few minutes in a smoke filled room.
