  • 23. (2022九上·龙岗开学考)  阅读理解

My name is Zach Abdile and I'm going to work in a hospital after being told I would never become a doctor. As long as I could remember, I've always wanted to help people one way or another. When I was in Grade 6, I had the amazing chance of shadowing(跟随. . . 实地学习)doctors in a hospital in India. I was completely amazed at the level of care that these doctors provided. Till then, I realized that this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

So when I told teachers that I would like to become a doctor, I think they really stuck on to that first impression I may have given them when I was a kid. And they questioned me "Are you sure you want to do this? Are you sure you have what it takes?" They even asked me to consider different possibilities in life. I think they really refused to accept the fact that I wanted to become a doctor. Moreover, the amount of love and support that people showed me was so heart-warming, although I'd never met them before.

I think hours of just studying on the wards(病房)during medical school can't really make us appreciate(充分意识到)what it's like to be a junior doctor. For people that want to follow their dreams, my highest advice for them is to not let anything limit them. Push through the self-doubt and push through the voice that tell you that you won't be able to do it. Just look back on the times that you had struggled(挣扎), no matter how hard that you thought it was at that time.

    1. (1) Why does Zach Abdile want to become a doctor?
A . To make a living. B . To help people in need. C . To satisfy his parents. D . To get respect from others.
    2. (2) When did Zach Abdile realize that it was his dream to provide care for the sick people?
A . When he was a kid. B . When he passed his final year exams. C . When he shadowed doctors in a hospital. D . When he graduated from the university.
    3. (3) Teachers held a(n) ____ view on Zach Abdile's dream.
      A . doubtful B . supportive C . active D . positive
    4. (4) What does the underlined word "limit" probably mean?
      A . 促进 B . 限制 C . 保持 D . 毁灭
    5. (5) According to each Abdile, if you want to follow your dream, you're supposed to ____.
A . question yourself as often as possible B . accept the voice that tell you that you won't be able to do it C . remember the hard times you've experienced and stick to your dream D . follow your teachers' suggestions

四、任务型阅读(共5小题,每小题2分,共10分)
  • 25. (2022九上·龙岗开学考)  以下是一篇短文,请阅读全文,从下列的六个句子中选择五个还原到原文中,使原文的意思完整、连贯。

Few people knew about online food delivery(外卖)apps ten years ago, but today, many would find it hard to live without them. For better or for worse, online food delivery services have changed the way we eat.

These services without doubt have many advantages. They provide jobs for millions of people and help restaurants find more customers. Since the apps are very easy to use, they also do good to customers: we can now have meals delivered at any time of day.  Not only do these apps save time, they also provide us with plenty of restaurants to choose from. They are useful for old people as well. They can buy meals and foods more easily with these apps.

First, they make it even easier to order unhealthy food. Food safety is another problem: it can be hard to know where the food comes from. As delivery men need to send the orders as quickly as possible, some pay little attention to traffic rules. What's more, delivery services are creating too much packaging waste, and this will be harmful to the environment.

There are many advantages of online food delivery services, but we need to make sure that we make the right choices in the long run. We also need to make sure what we eat is healthy. Next time you are thinking about ordering in, ask yourself whether you really need to. Most of the time, it's better to buy what you need and cook by yourself.

    A. This is especially important for people who might not have time to cook.

    B. Because of this, a number of people have even lost their lives recently.

    C. They are also making a big difference to our society.

    D. However, we mustn't forget the disadvantages of these services.

    E. We should try our best to avoid waste.

    F. Learning how to order food online is necessary for young people.
