I want to join the Music Club, because I can play the guitar. I can't speak English well, but I also want to join the English Club. Jack likes sports. He can play soccer and basketball. He is in the school soccer team. He wants to join the Sports Club. He can play the guitar, too. But he doesn't want to join the Music Club. Lisa likes drawing. She wants to join the Art Club. She also speaks English very well. I think she can be in the English Club.

My name is Joe. I'm in the Chinese Club at our school. But I like music very much. I want to join the Music Club.

Lisa and Linda are my friends. Lisa likes playing chess (国际象棋). She wants to join the Chess Club. Do you know what Linda likes? Oh, she likes sports and she likes swimming very much. She swims well, but she doesn't want to join the Swimming Club. She wants to join the Music Club and learn about music.

David is also my friend. He likes English. He wants to join the English Club and learn English.

We're lucky, we have a good class monitor. His name is Bob. He can do many things. Every day he runs to school. He runs really fast! In class he can answer any question. He can speak Chinese, English and French. He can play a lot of sports like basketball, football and table tennis. He can swim well, too. He is strong and can eat four bowls（碗）of noodles for lunch. He can eat six apples at a time.

Bob's mother works in a school library. He can read many books and magazines in it. He can learn a lot from books. He is kind and gets on well with everyone in our class. He is always ready to help others. I think Bob can do any work — he can be a doctor, a singer, or a spaceman(宇航员).

Hello! I'm Mary. I'm going to have a busy weekend. On Saturday morning, I'm going to the Beach Park with my friends. We are going to ride bikes there because we can do some sightseeing on the way. We are going to play on the beach. In the midday, we are going to have a picnic in the park. In the afternoon, we are going to visit our English teacher, she wants us to go to her home and helps us with our English. In the evening, I'm going to visit my aunt with my mother, because it's my cousin's birthday. There is going to be a party in her house. On Sunday morning, I'm going to the bookstore with my good friends. I'm going to buy some storybooks. After lunch, I'm going to do sports with my brother. In the evening, I'm going to watch TV and clean my room. How busy I am!

On Sunday morning Tim plans to go cycling(骑自行车). He loves sports and he thinks doing sports can help him keep healthy. He's going to the library to borrow some books on Sunday afternoon. He enjoys reading. On Sunday evening, he is going to watch cartoons(卡通片) at home.

Now people are living a good life and they have many good things. What will life be like in the future? In the future, you'll see many changes. First, we'll wear a new kind of clothes. They'll be warm when we are cold, and cool when we are hot. Second, we'll eat many kinds of food. Food will be very cheap and nice to eat. Everyone will have a long life. You can see lots of 150-year-old people in the street. Third, all of us will live in beautiful houses. The houses can also walk. When we want to change the place we live, they'll take us there in a short time. Fourth, we will make many new robots. They will help us with the housework, talk with us, and cook meals for us. They'll be our good friends. They will also help the old people in many ways.

It's Sunday and the weather is fine, so Mrs. Black says, "Let's go for a picnic."

"Oh, yes!" say Mary and John, her two children.

Mr. Black says, "Yes, let's go to the woods (小树林) and have our picnic there. Good. Help me to get the things ready."

"All right," say the children. John brings a basket of food and some bottles of water. Mary brings a blanket (毯子). Their mother Mrs. Black makes the sandwiches, and Mr. Black puts everything into the car.

Soon everything is ready and they leave the house. When they get to the woods, Mary puts the blanket on the ground. John and Mr. Black take the food out of the car. Father makes a fire (火) and Mother makes tea for everyone.

"Isn't it beautiful here?" says Mother.

"It's very quiet and green." John has a kite and soon he is running with it and flying the kite happily. "Be careful!" Mrs. Black says to him. But it is too late. John falls (摔倒) over the basket of food, and everything is on the ground. "Look!" cries Mary." There are ants (蚂蚁) in the food. There are hundreds of them. The blanket is on an ants' nest (蚂蚁窝). "
