Artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming more and more common in our life. The Fifth World Artificial Intelligence Conference, or WAIC, 1 from September 1 to 3 in Shanghai. The event shows the use of artificial intelligence(AD)2 many ways. Let's see what AI and robots can do.
Cloud Ginger 2.0 is a new smart service robot. It can do many things, 3 reception work, tour guidance, elderly care, cleaning, as well as education and scientific research. Shaped like a human, the robot works with its hands and has 41 smart sensors. It can listen, speak, see and move. Reports show there will be about 310 million people who are 60 or older in China by 2035. Cloud Ginger will be very much needed. 4 service is probably one of the things that people care about most, because health is the most important thing in life. A group of robots5 solutions that cover surgeries from head to toe. A laparoscopic surgery robot is one of them. With the help of other technologies, the robot can perform surgery. With the help of the robot, doctors can perform laparoscopic surgeries by using a computer mouse. This makes the surgery much6 to perform. From December 2021 to September 2022, nearly 300 surgeries were performed by the laparoscopic robot.
The robot iSward is an intelligent mowing(修剪) robot. A traditional robotic mower can hardly meet the needs of gardens that are more than 1, 000 square meters. 7 , iSward can meet the needs of those with an area of 5, 000 square meters. And the robot can8 the work well in a short time.
At WAIC's closing ceremony, 25 AI projects were9 . As a technology, AI helps people make decisions and do a better job. Only if people work10 with AI can the technology be put to better use.

What Is bullying? Bullying is when someone makes you feel bad or hurts you again and again. Bullying can happen at school, out of school or online. Bullying includes: ●calling people mean names ●laughing at people ●telling lies about people ●taking someone's things without permission ●not letting someone play in a group ●hitting people. |
What is cyberbullying? Cyberbullying happens online and includes: ●sending mean messages ●sharing photos without permission ●not letting someone be part of an online group. |
|
What can you do? If someone is mean to you, tell an adult that you know and like. For example, talk to a parent or a teacher. You can block a person who sends mean messages online. Ask an adult to help you. Don't reply. Talk to your parents or teacher or an adult that you know well if you see bullying or if you are worried about a friend. |

Festivals have always been an important part of life and culture. In the modern age, new festivals have appeared over time. Some of the new festivals came from other parts of the world;some appeared just because of the interesting meanings of the dates.
International Women's Day, International Museum Day and International Nurses' Day are currently celebrated around the world. These are mostly days for a specific group of people or a specific field. These festivals didn't start in China, but we celebrate them in a Chinese way. For example, many Chinese students call International Women's Day "Girls' Day" or "Queens' Day". On this day, they have an interesting practice. They come up with interesting activity ideas, such as doing make—up or dressing up in Hanfu.
Other new festivals include 520 Day, Eating Day(May 17th), Cute Day(October 10th)and Double 11 Day.520 is a short form of the day of May 20th. In Chinese, it sounds a lot like "I love you" and 517 sounds like "I want to eat". And the Chinese words for October l0th look like the Chinese word "萌(meng)", which means "cute". Double 11 Day is also known as Singles' Day, because the date November 11th or "11. 11" is all about the number "I". So Double 11 Day is about single". People in China have celebrated Double 11 Day for a few years. And it is now one of the biggest shopping days in the world.
For many young people, new festivals seem to be a lot more interesting than the old ones. But whether they are old or new, festivals always offer a great excuse for us to take a minute and appreciate life with our loved ones.
The Underwater Museum of Art in Cancun
The Underwater Museum of Art(MUSA) in Cancun is always holding an unusual and popular public art show. It's the largest museum of its kind anywhere on earth.
MUSA lies off the coast of Mexico. Construction began in 2009 and the museum opened to the public one year later. Unlike a traditional museum, it's an environmental project with the purpose of helping to protect coral reefs and sea life. There are over 500 different sculptures in MUSA. These sculptures changed over time as they became important parts of the underwater environment and home to all kinds of plants and sea animals.
The sculptures were placed within three galleries of MUSA. The Punta Nizuc Gallery is about 4 meters deep with 33 sculptures. It is closest to most of Cancun's hotels. The Machones Gallery is about 8 meters deep with around 470 sculptures. But only divers can get into this gallery and find the most well—known sculptures in MUSA. There's also a third gallery called the Punta Sam Gallery. And it's as deep as the Punta Nizuc Gallery.
Visitors can enjoy the art show and get close to local sea life as they swim or dive around the museum. The diving tours cost between $90 and $160 per person. If you don't want to get wet, you can still visit the underwater museum——just book a glass boat tour, for only $47 per person. No matter which gallery you choose, you can get an eyeful on your trip to MUSA.
a. taking a diving tour
b. having a glass boat tour

Lessons from China on increasing forest cover
Forests are the provider of many necessary products and play a key role in providing clean air, preventing climate change and conserving biodiversity. As deforestation and forest degradation continue across much of Asia—Pacific, a paper by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) shows how China has "seen a phenomenal transformation of forests in the last thirty years".
China has taken active steps in increasing its forest cover. In the past thirty years, China has successfully stopped the loss of forests and even managed to reverse the trend. Such "forest transformation" is also evident in other countries within the region such as India, Japan, South Korea and Vietnam.
However, China's efforts are worthy of mention. It has increased its forest cover from about 157 million hectares in 1990 to about 220 million hectares in 2020. Reforestation there has been the highest among the 236 countries and regions covered by FAO's paper.
The increase in China's forest cover arises from two factors — planted forest areas and naturally regenerated forests. Between 1990 and 2020, planted forests increased by over 40 million hectares, while naturally regenerated forests increased by 22 million hectares.
Lots of tree—planting programs have ensured the growth of trees in China. Under China's Grain for Green program starting in 1999, China has successfully transformed 33.5 million hectares of croplands into tree or grass cover.
China has also invested heavily in research and development in science and technology. This has had direct and indirect impact on the forest industry. China started a three—stage forest development strategy in 2010, focusing on using digital technology to monitor, revive and develop forest areas.
And China has also made a great effort to improve the forest ecosystem and its resilience to climate change. China has achieved this by increasing public awareness, building national parks and running various reforestation programs.
According to Jong Jin Kim, Assistant Director—General and FAO Regional Representative for Asia and the Pacific, "such a transformation is a result of several factors, including the rise of China as an industrial economy, clear and consistent policies, investment in key forestry programs, and the development of science and technology. "
There's a new music show called "Infinity and Beyond(Sheng sheng bu xi)", which made its way to the small screen on April 24. If you've long been a follower of Hong Kong Cantopop music, you'll surely be attracted by the amazing line—up of music legends invited to reinterpret the classic hits.
Produced jointly by Mango TV, Hunan TV and Hong Kong's TVB, the show introduced its final line—up of stars through some very retro posters(复古风格的海报).
Hunan TV is also the home of the music show "Singer" which officially ended in 2020. And it certainly looks like "Infinity and Beyond" might be their next big music show. Likewise, it's also worth noting that the show is a double celebration since 2022 marks not only TVB's 55th anniversary, but also the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland.
"Infinity and Beyond" is co—hosted by He Jiong and Wong Cho Lam. As for its guests, both old school and new genre(类型)artists from the mainland and Hong Kong have been thrown into the mix. The 16 artists(some of whom you may have heard of)include husband and wife George Lam and Sally Yeh. There are also Li Jian, Coco Lee, Zhou Bichang, Liu Xijun, and Mo dong sban ba(rappers Smelly D and aZi). Last but not least, "The Voice of China 2020 winner Shan Yichun and TVB's "Stars Academy" winner Gigi Yim Ming Hay also compete in it. In "Infinity and Beyond", generations can relive the past together and feel the past.
This show has a strong humanistic atmosphere(人文氛围). The cultural inheritance of Cantonese songs is just as Zheng Guojiang, the lyricist of Need You Every Minute, said, "My words show the morale(士气)of the Chinese people, Lu Guozhan expresses the spirit of the Chinese people, and Huang Zhan conveys traditional Chinese thoughts. "

Museums in China keep up with young people with fresh experience
For Liu Ziqi, an eight—year old museum lover in Beijing, this winter vacation has proved a rather busy one, as she made a to—go list for newly opened exhibitions in the Chinese capital. During the seven day Spring Festival holiday starting from Jan. 21, museums in Beijing received 1.01 million visits, up 34 percent year on year, according to Beijing Municipal Cultural Heritage Bureau. Like Liu, more and more young people, some not necessarily big fans of museums, choose to spend some of their spare time in a museum.
COLLABORATIONS(合作)
Collaborations between museums and arts organizations help the young people get closer to the relics(文物) by telling the stories behind them.
"Harmonious Co—existence, " the first exhibition held jointly by the two museums in recent years is a great example. Including over 400 exhibits, ' from picture scrolls depicting ancient Chinese legends to copies of philosophical, classics, it elaborates on the historical origins of the concepts of "harmony" and "unity" which are rooted in the Chinese culture.
COMMUNICATION
"More and more visitors began asking questions, " Bai Xuesong, a professional museum guide at Xi'an Beilin Museum said, adding that this shows a change in the relationship between guides and visitors – from "teaching" to communication and learning.
New technologies including AI and VR also enabled museums in China to make a change from simply showing artifacts to actively engaging with visitors.
"I saw the roof decorations for the Tang Dynasty palace, " said Liu. "It feels like traveling back to the Tang Dynasty. Now I feel closer to history. "
INTEGRATIONS(整合)
"For young people, intellectual and cultural activities are becoming an important part of their lives, " said Jin Jiangbo, vice president of the Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts, explaining reasons behind people's growing interest in museums.
Such integrations are changing museums from simply places of public cultural education to public service centers, meeting the needs of the young people who want to know more about different kinds of culture.
The museums are changing their forms to attract more people. Now matter how they change, there's one thing that won't change:Behind the popularity is people's positive attitude toward the country's development and their understanding of and growing confidence in national culture.
