During the National Day holiday of 2023, I had an unforgettable trip to Beijing. My family and I watched the flag-raising ceremony(升旗仪式) in Tian'anmen Square(广场).
That was a 1 important moment for us Chinese. It was 2 for us to get up very early because the ceremony started at sunrise(日出). 3 spent three days getting a chance(机会) to watch the ceremony. On the first day, 4 we got up at 5 a.m., we still missed the ceremony. The following day, we got up a little bit 5 in the morning. But when we got to the square, the street was already so 6 that we couldn't move. At last we could not get closer to the ceremony. So on the 7 day, we got up at around 3: 30 a.m. When we 8 the Tian'an Men Square, the ceremony began. One hour later, we had a close and 9 view(看) of the flag-raising ceremony. The Downtown Plaza is always fun. It's a shopping area in the oldest part of town. There are some good stores there. For example, Andrea's Boutique is in Downtown Plaza. It's a fun place to shop, and it has the best quality clothes.
My favorite restaurant in town is Nick's Cafe. It is near my house. It's cheap and its hamburgers are great. I like Dragon City Restaurant, too. You can eat wonderful noodles there and the beef noodles are the most delicious! You must try the dumplings, too! But the dumplings are more expensive than Nick's.
The Suburb Cinema is the best movie theater. It has the biggest screen and the most comfortable seats. The Del Ray Complex is a good place to go to the movies, too. It doesn't have the newest movies, but the tickets are cheaper.
Anyway, there are lots of things to do and see here. Come for a visit soon!

The summer vacation is a time to enjoy yourselves. It's a good chance to work on different activities that you don't have much time to do during the rest of the year.
We asked about 2,000 people what they would do during the summer vacation. Most of the survey-takers (接受调查的人) agreed that the summer vacation was free from homework and that they could relax during the vacation.
Alexis said, "At school, I'm really tired, so during the summer vacation I can read books and do many outdoor activities."
Amy is in high school. After school, she sometimes works in a cafe. She told us, "It's a chance to relax after a hard school year—sleep more, and visit my friends more."
We also asked them if they would be too busy or kind of bored. About half (52%) of the survey-takers said they would be busy during the summer vacation but still have time to relax. And that is how it should be.
But not everyone said the summer vacation would be the right balance (平衡) between being busy and relaxing. Many thought that they would be too bored.
During the summer vacation, how bored or busy people feel depends on how old they are. Survey -takers in their early teens were more likely (可能的) to be bored. Among them, about 40% said they would be bored and only about 10% thought they would be too busy.
Every one of us should have at least one or two good friends. Your friends will listen to you when you speak, will look after you when you don't feel well, and will always be together with you in your life. Everyone needs friends. Friendship(友谊) can make us happier. How can we find a good friend and get on well with each other? Here is some advice.
★Make friends with a person who is easy to get on with.
★You should make friends with a person who has something in common with you.
★Give your friend a hand when he or she has problems. Friends should always help each other.
★Believe in(相信) each other. This is the most important thing in a friendship.
