I always believed in UFOs, but I didn't see one. My husbanddidn't believe in UFOs before that 1.
Last Friday night, he drove home 2 work. He drove near a gas station(加油站) when he saw a bright light. It looked 3 a light. It was low, and it wasn'tmoving. He didn't 4 toomuch about it. He thought maybe it was a street light, so he 5 up farther and then the lightwent off. But a few minutes later, it was on. He stopped the car. He 6 and looked around, but saw nothing.
After a short whilethe 7 wason again. He got on the car and drove another 2 miles to our house. He sat in the8 fora few minutes thinking of what he saw. He got out of the car and the moving lightwent off. Then when he looked back, he could 9 it in the sky. Then he was 10 it must be a UFO. He went intoour house and told me about it.
Do you know Venus(金星)?Of the eight planets in the solar system, Venus is the nearest one to us. Venus also refers to the Roman goddess of love and beauty. In Greek her name was Aphrodite. Venus and the earth are almost the same size, and you would weigh almost the same on both planets. If you were 70pounds on the earth, you would be 63 pounds on Venus.
Venus is an" unfriendly" planet. Because. of its thick cloud, you can't see the surface(表面). In many ways, Venus is like the earth. It has active volcanoes(火山), mountains and valleys(峡谷)too. But Venus is too hot for life. It has the hottest temperature of the planets in our solar system, about 480C. Besides, the earth lets heat out through volcanoes, hot springs, but Venus lets heat out in a different way. For a longtime most scientists thought that Venus probably had plants, animals, and possibly even human beings. However, because Venus is so hot, it is impossible for anything to live there.
Our nearest neighbour is the moon. In the sky, the moon and the sun seem to be of the same size because the moon is much nearer.
The moon makes the tides(潮汐)—the changes in the level of the sea. The moon and the sun together pull the sea. In some parts of the world, the difference between "high tide" (when the sea is very near to the land) and "low tide" (when the sea is far away from the land) is very big. This is very important to ships.
The moon is very different from the earth. Gravity(地心引力)on the moon is one-sixth of that on the earth. There isn't any air. During the day, the part of it that face the sun is very, very hot but at night it is very, very cold. Nothing can live on the moon.
If the moon goes between the earth and the sun, we have an eclipse of the sun(日食). The moon stops the light from the sun and it is dark in the day.
If the earth goes between the moon and the sun, we have an eclipse of the moon. The moon goes into the shadow(影子)of the earth and it disappears for a few minutes.
I'm an American. I live and work in Japan. One day, l was seriously ill, so I called an ambulance (救护车). It quickly came and took me to the hospital. After some tests, the doctors said there was nothing serious, but they still kept me in the hospital for a night.
During checking out (结账) the next day, they kept warning me that the cost would be expensive.
At that moment, I was a little worried about the cost. Then they showed me the bill—about ¥ 30, 000, a little under $ 300.
I surprised them all when I started laughing. They just had no idea what was so funny. Then I told them that an ambulance ride, hospital stay and follow-up medication(后续用药)in the US would easily be at least ten times higher than that price !

It's 5 o 'clock in the afternoon. Tony is still in the classroom. The teacher asked everyone to work for the school (项目), so he's making a (模型)plane. Many classmates have (已经)finished the homework, but Daming hasn't started (还, 尚). He has some problems with his work, and he's busy (搜索)for information about space travel on the Internet. The (最新的)news says that China has ever sent (宇航员)into space by (宇宙飞船). They have been to the (月球) and (刚刚)returned to the (地球) safely. The scientists are working hard in order to (发现) if there's life on other (行星)and stars. But the result shows that no one has (到达) Mars because it is very far away. Daming then has an idea. He will try his best to make his dream come (真实的)—that's flying to Mars one day!
What(happen) if a family is without the Internet for a month? One American family decides to find out. They ask a television station to send a film group to record their day-to-day lifetechnology for a month.
When the film group meet the Smiths, they find that Mr. Smith, Mrs. Smith and their two sons are so crazy about technologythey hardly do things together. At mealtimes no one sits at the dining table for their food. "Everyone just runs into the kitchen, takes their food and then goes back to their screen," Mrs. Smith says, "we don't make a change, our family will become(strange) to each other!"
Getting back to the normal life without the Internet is not easy,(especial) when the Smiths have lost(they) in it. They have to make many changes.example the two brothers have to go to the school library to borrow books for their scientific projects, and Mr. and Mrs. Smith need to go out shopping because they cannot buy things online. As the family have(pick) up the new lifestyle, they find that they can spend more time(talk)over meals, playing sports and doing all kinds of activities together.

A: Hey, Nick!
B: Not yet. Anything special?
A: The astronauts have just come back from the moon.
B: Wow! How long did they stay on the moon?
A: For five days. They will stay longer next time.
B: Have they found life on the moon?
A: No, they haven't. I don't think there is life on the moon.
B: I think there're aliens living on the moon.
A: Maybe. But people have never seen them.
B: I think that's because they live too far from us. They don't know how to drive a spaceship.
A: Haha, that's interesting.
B: Yes, I think that is really exciting.
A: I'm sure your dream will come true.
