The wombat (袋熊) has a small, fat body and strong legs. Some people think it looks like a cute little bear. Wombats come in different colors, from black, to grey to yellow.
The wombat makes its home underground. Its strong legs help it to dig underground. Some wombat burrows (洞穴) can be 100 feet long, but most are about 15 feet long.
Wombats don't eat meat. They are herbivores. They eat grass, roots and tree bark (树皮). They come out at night to eat.
There are no wombats in the United States, except in zoos. Like kangaroos, wombats are from Australia. A mother wombat has one baby each year. She carries her young baby in a pocket, like a kangaroo.

Emergency (紧急情况) Numbers in Different Countries
Emergencies always happen every day in every country. What will you do if you meet with an emergency? If you don't know what to do, just remember some emergency numbers. When an emergency happens, stay calm (冷静的), take out your mobile phone, and call the emergency number you need. Different countries have different emergency numbers.
The USA
In the USA, remember to call 911 when you are in an emergency. The number 911 connects callers to emergency services (服务). It can tell the place of the caller's mobile phone.
The UK
In the UK, people call the number 999 when they are in an emergency. Each call centre has interpretation (翻译) services with 170 languages.
South Korea
The emergency number 112 is only for police in the country. Most of the telephone operators (接线员) speak Korean. But there are some operators who speak English, Chinese or Russian. They can offer better service for foreigners.
China
In China, 110 is a 24-hour emergency number. Each telephone operator answers 800 to 1, 000 emergency calls every day. Operators should work on an emergency call in 57 seconds. The police need to get to the scene (现场) in five minutes in cities. In the area which is far away from the town or city, it is 10 minutes.
During the Jin Dynasty (265—420), there was a child named Che Yin. He was smart and loved to read. He grew up in a poor family and didn't have enough money for lamp oil to study at night.
One night, he saw fireflies (萤火虫) outside his house and came up with an idea. He caught some fireflies in a cloth bag and hung the bag up as a lamp. It is said that he spent all of his summer nights reading like this.
Another child named Sun Kang also loved reading. One night during winter, Sun used up all his lamp oil and couldn't study at night. When he woke up at night, he saw the snow reflecting (反射) the moonlight outside his house. "Oh, I can use the reflected light to read!" he thought. He took out his books and read, even though he was freezing cold.
Both of the kids later became successful government officials (政府官员). People were moved because of their hard-working spirit (精神) and turned their stories into the Chinese idiom (成语) nangying yingxue.
Present Xi Jinping once told these stories at the Party School of the CPC Central Committee (中共中央党校). He talked about nangying yingxue, xuanliang cigu and zaobi touguang. All of these stories encourage people to study hard even though they will meet difficulties. Xi hopes that government officials can keep this hard-working spirit in mind.
All of us can learn a lot from these stories. Although they don't take place in modern times, they are just like the light of fireflies—they light up the road to knowledge.

So why did the restaurant put up the sign on its door?
Troy Taylor, the owner of pizza restaurant, found that many parents couldn't control their children and many children couldn't have meals quietly, so they disturbed (打扰) other customers. Some people said that this was unfair. Mr. Taylor explained he did so. He said that the restaurant was near a busy road, which might be some danger if the parents didn't take good care of their children. So he made up his mind to ban (禁止) children from his restaurant.
(other) supported the decision. They said they were bored of (noise) children in restaurants and now they could finally have a place for adults only.
In fact, many other restaurants have also met the same problem. Some have done nothing and others have tried to ban children during certain times of the day. There's one restaurant in (Italian). It has been creative in (solve) the problem. They reward well-behaved children with a family meal discount (折扣) (encourage) parents to control their children.
