There is a boy who cannot stop talking. All day long, he talks and talks. He always talks and never listens to others. He has no friends. The boy is very sad. He asks his father for help, "Why don't I have any friends?" He wants so much to have friends.
His father brings him a frog. He says, "Listen, my son. Do you hear the frogs in the pond? They croak (呱呱地叫) all day. They never stop. But does anyone really listen to them? Then his father points to the rooster (公鸡) and says, "Early tomorrow morning, the rooster will crow (打鸣). He crows only at this time everyday. But everyone listens to him. He wakes us all up from our sleep." The boy understands. From then on, he wants to be like the rooster--a boy with few words.
Tiangong space station has some special "astronauts". They are plants. Rice is one of them. Scientists grow some rice on Earth. They also grow some rice in space. Here are the differences in growing plants on Earth and in space. The good news is the plants are growing very well. Some of the rice plants are 30cm tall.

Water (水滴) droplets act differently | ● They fall to the ground. | ● Without gravity (重力), they just stay in the air. |
Roots grow differently | ● They go deep into the soil. | ● They may grow sideways (横向的) first. Later, they go into the soil. |
In our minds, cities in southern (南方的) China are usually wet and have a lot of rainfall. Some of them are near the sea. But southern cities like Guangzhou and Shenzhen are "thirsty". They have not enough fresh water for people to use. Why are they "thirsty"? As a city grows fast, a lot of people live and work there. They use much water. Water pollution is a big problem. Shanghai and Guangzhou have rivers inside the city. But the water there gets dirty. Sometimes, the weather becomes hot and there is not enough rainfall. Less rainfall makes less water in rivers. The level of the river gets low. Seawater goes into the river and makes the fresh water salty. People call it salt tide(咸潮). This can happen sometimes in Guangdong. Tap water in people's homes can taste a little salty. Some cities have enough rainfall. But they don't have big lakes or reservoirs (水库) to keep water. The water just goes into the sea. We should turn off the tap in time. Turning off a tap for a minute may save 6L of water. We should reuse water at home. After washing rice, we can use it to water flowers.
