As the years passed, the wise man was 2 about his son's future. One day, he said to his son, "I want you to go and find some 3 . I have drawn a map to guide you. " Then he handed his son a bag. Inside the bag were clothes, some food, a little money and the map.
The son set out on his long journey the next day. Along the way he met a lot of people 4 helped with food and shelter (住所). He saw changing landscapes (风景) and experienced different kinds of weather.
Finally, after a long year, he reached the treasure's location. He spent two days looking and digging 5 the treasure, but nothing was found.
6 , he headed back to his home. On his way back, he experienced the same changing landscapes and seasons. Sometimes, he would stop 7 the beauty of nature. He also learned to hunt and make meals. He had to fix his own clothes and shelter 8 . He was now able to tell 9 by the position of the sun and protect himself from wild animals. He met the same people who had helped him earlier. This time, he stayed and helped them in order to repay them.
When he reached home, his father asked, " 10 was your journey to the place? Did you enjoy it?"
"Of course not! I was worried that someone else would find the treasure 11 I did. But I really enjoyed the journey back home and 12 the pain of not finding the treasure. " The son continued to tell his father 13 he noticed on the way back.
"Nice things are 14 there," the father smiled. "My son, I want you to have a goal. If you don't have a goal, you won't set out. But if the goal is the only thing in your mind, you will 15 something nice and you won't be happy. So remember: It is important to have a goal in life and enjoy the journey as well. "
Are you interested in space? What do you think of watching a lecture given in space?
The Shenzhou-16 astronauts gave their first science lecture (讲座) on the afternoon of September 21 from the Tiangong space station to students around the world.
During the 48-minute lecture, the astronauts Jing Haipeng, Zhu Yangzhu and Gui Haichao first greeted students and showed their living and work areas. They also shared their experiences in space. The astronauts then performed several experiments (实验) to show physical phenomena (现象) in the special environment inside the space station.
They invited students to do similar experiments on the ground to find the differences, as well as answered their questions.
Five classrooms were set on the ground including one at the gym of Beihang University in Beijing. More than 2400 students and teachers from the university and other schools attended the "ground class" at the gym.
"I felt very privileged to watch the lecture, which showed our nation's power in science and technology," said Li Baixuan, a student from Beihang Experimental Primary School. " The astronauts showed us what science and technology can achieve. I wish to fly to space someday like them. "
The activity marked the fourth lecture of the Tiangong Class' series. The lecture not only reminded people how important it is to develop space technology, but also encouraged many children to develop an interest in science and even dream of becoming great scientists.

He searched three buildings and climbed eighteen floors before he finally delivered the food to the customer who scolded (责怪) Wang for arriving late.
" If I had argued with him, I might have got negative feedback (差评) and lost my job. I had no choice but to say sorry all the time," recalled Wang, who makes about 6,000 yuan a month by delivering food.
On his way home that day, Wang wrote a poem, Man in a Hurry, to express his feelings. Since then, Wang has been writing poems. Wang's poems are simple and real. He often shares them with his friends.

Many Chinese mothers are afraid that their children will fall behind their classmates, so these mothers are becoming" tiger mothers". They believe the harder their children study, the happier life they will have in the future. Is it true? Lulu and her sister Sophia may have a say.
Lulu and Sophia have a" tiger mother". She pushed them a lot when they were young. For example, they were not allowed to get grades lower than A's. They had to practice the piano or violin for several hours a day. There were no games or TV.
The tiger mother, Amy, is a Chinese-American professor at Yale Law School in the USA. Several years ago, she wrote a book named Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother and shared her strict parenting style(育儿方式)in it.
Many people don't like Amy's style of parenting. They once worried that her daughters would not be happy. However, the two girls have grown up and they are thankful to their mother. Sophia has just graduated from Yale University. She is hard-working, friendly and helpful. Not long ago, she shared some useful studying tips online. Lulu is also a warm, smart and popular girl her friends eyes. She said tiger mothers believed that a child could succeed by being pushed to go all out.
Still, not everyone agrees with the tiger mother's parenting style. In fact, there isn't a parenting style that fits everyone. What's the best parenting style for you? Maybe you should work it out together with your parents.
Every year, millions of birds are killed or hurt when they fly into buildings. Why does this happen? Birds are flying into windows and tall buildings that are all covered by glass.
Many birds fly from one place to another. Most of the time, they live in the wild, such as forests and wetlands. They might see small trees and flowers inside a window and want to rest on these plants. The birds do not know there is glass between them and the plants.
Some birds fly at night. They use the moon and stars to help guide them in the right direction. Tall buildings with lights on at night can confuse(迷惑)the birds. The birds see the light, but they cannot tell that the light is coming from inside a building. They fly toward the light and crash into a building. On many mornings, there might be several dead birds lying on the ground.
Many office buildings now turn off their lights at night. This helps reduce the number of birds that fly into buildings and it also helps save energy.
A. The answer is glass. B. People are trying to solve the problem. C. These birds have no idea what glass is. D. As a result, they fly right into the glass. E. In this way, they can avoid crashing into glass. F. People don't know how to deal with the problem. G. This is a big problem, especially on foggy and rainy nights. |

When I rolled (使成球形) my dad's socks as a basketball, I knew one thing was real: I fell in love with you. The love was so deep I gave you my all from my body to my soul (灵魂).
As a six-year-old boy, I loved you deeply. I never stopped you. I only saw myself for you every court all the time. You needed my , I tried my best because it asked for so much more. I played through the sweat (汗水) and the hurt, not because the called me, but because you called me. I did everything for you, because you made me feel .
You gave a six-year-old boy his Laker (湖人) dream, and I will always love you for it. But now I can't love you any . This season is the last one for me. My heart can still beat,my spirit can also fight, but my body knows it's time to goodbye. Both of us have to accept it. And it's OK. I'm ready to let you go.
I want you to know now, then we can value each other so many we have left together.
The good and the bad,so far,we have one another all that we have. And we also know, I do next, I will always be that kid with a basketball in my hands.
Love you always,
Kobe
Recently, a short video from Chongqing has become hot on the Internet. In the video, a bus is moving on the road in a village. When the driver notices a schoolbag hanging outside the door of an old house, he stops and honks (按喇叭). Soon, a boy rushes outside, carries the schoolbag and gets on the bus.
The bus driver is Cheng Lin. He has driven from Luotian to Wuqiao Nan Station for many years. There are many left-behind children along the route—they go to school in the city on Sundays and come back on Fridays. Cheng knows the importance of his role on their way to and from school, so he pays a lot of attention to them.
The boy is a Grade 9 student who goes to school by himself. He lives with his grandmother because his parents work in another city and seldom come back. Mr. Cheng cares about him a lot. They have developed a secret code (代码). If the boy needs to catch the bus, he will hang his schoolbag outside. When Mr. Cheng sees it, he will honk.
The boy's parents were deeply moved by the driver's kindness when they saw the video. "As parents, we feel very happy because someone is taking care of our child. We are very thankful to Mr. Cheng," says the father.
Mr. Cheng's story is well-known and he is praised as a good driver. He says it's just a little thing and that he will continue doing it.
