In life, everyone has something unforgettable. So do I.
I always 1 the day when there was no light in my home for more than 10 hours. My family were watching TV at 4:00 p. m. that day. 2 the lights went on and off a few times. It was clear that there must be something 3 with the circuit(电路). Before my father went to have a look, the room became 4. So we had to use the flashlight to find out 5 happened.
There were strong winds outside and 6 rained heavily. We went in as quickly as we could. We could even feel the coldness through the 7. Several hours later, we realized that the power(电力)would not 8 in a short time. When we were ready to go to bed, my sister shouted, "Look! It's 9. " We jumped up and down and felt very 10. We looked forward to making a snowman and having a snowball fight. 11 there was still no power, we went to bed earlier than usual.
The snow 12 the next morning. It seemed to be sunny. When we looked outside, we saw a 13 world. The trees were covered with snow and the roads became 14. Luckily, the power came back. After we had breakfast at home, we went out to play 15 snow happily.
We had a great time that day.

How to Develop a Good Parent and Child Relation
The relation between a parent and a child is the most important in a child's life. It can make a difference to the child's life much. Positive relations can help children grow healthily and successfully. Here are some ways to help you build a good relation.
Get used to their way. If you learn more about their ideas and opinions, you will communicate or play with them in their way. This will help you get close easily. You can communicate with them freely and find the world in their heart through playing games on the floor instead of at the dinner table.
Make good use of family time. You must make family time a regular (有规律的) and special part of your life. Then your children can know you accept and respect them. You can eat meals together most nights of the week. You can also share sports events, movies and other events.
Join in children's school. If you have some free time, volunteer in the children's school. Then you can know more about your children at school. You can also sit near them when they do homework. This will make them better at schoolwork.
Build trust. It's important for you and your children to believe in each other. You can make them know they can trust you. When you plan to do something, you must finish it. You will set a good example for them.
Listen to children. If children are complaining (抱怨) about school, you must listen to them. Then they will know you are important and trust you. You also need to leave your mobile phone and TV and look at children's eyes. Then you can give your opinions and ideas to them in time.
There was a boy in India who was sent by his parents to a boarding school. Before being sent away this boy was the cleverest student in his class. He was at the top in every competition. But the boy changed after leaving home and studying in the boarding school. His grades started dropping. He hated being in a group. He was lonely all the time. And there were especially dark times when he felt like killing himself. All of this because he felt worthless(没有价值的) and that no one loved him.
His parents started worrying about the boy. So his dad decided to travel to the boarding school and talk with him. They sat on the bank of the lake near the school. The father started asking him common questions about his classes, teachers and sports. After some time his dad said, "Do you know why I am here today, son?"
The boy answered back, "to check my grades?"
"No, no," his dad replied, "I am here to tell you that you are the most important person for me. I want to see you happy. I don't care about grades. I care about you. I care about your happiness. You are my life. "
These words caused the boy's s eyes to fill with tears(泪水). He hugged his dad. They didn't say anything to each other for a long time.
Now this young man is in college at the top of his class and no one has ever seen him sad!

I have three children and I make them do housework. However,of my parents agree with me. They think I'm too harsh(严厉的). They also say it is adults' job to do housework all the time.
But in my opinion, each of the family members should help with household. I don't ask my children to do the same. Elder Jimmy can sweep the living roomlittle Amanda can take out the rubbish.
At the end of the day, after they finishwith their toys, I ask them to put the toys away. If they don't, they will have to say goodbye totoys. I expect my children to set the table at night and helptheir own clothes. I don't think I'm asking too much.
I know theyto do these things and they are tired after a long day's study at school. But that's life — harsh but. And I'm as tired as they are. I don't want to pay them for what they do. They live in the house, so they should help outsome things in the house. No one is going to pay them for cleaning up their rooms later in life and I'm not about to start doing it now.
Some parents protect their children too much and make their children's lives too comfortable and safe, but I'm notin that way. I hope that my children are able to look after themselves and can be independent early.
A: Good morning. What's wrong with you?
B: I hurt my knee.
A: Your right knee?
B: Yes. I can't move.
A: Oh? Can I have a look at it? Hmm, yes, it's swollen (肿胀的). did you hurt it?
B: I fell down the stairs.
A: I see. Well, I don't think it's serious. But you shouldan X-ray. Let the nurse take youthe third floor and come back with your X-ray. And then I will know if your knee is broken or not.
B: OK. I will. (after ten minutes)
A: Let me have a look. Nothing seems to be broken. I think all you need is some rest. Remember to put some iceyour knee.
B: OK, thank you. Goodbye.
A: Goodbye.
In 1988, Wang Chengbang retired (退休) from the army. Instead of enjoying a relaxing life, he volunteered to save the soil from desertification (沙漠化) by planting trees in Korla, Xinjiang.
It is no easy job. The high temperature in Korla makes it difficult for anyone to work day after day in the sunshine. Besides, water is a big problem. In fact, Wang Chengbang's work in the first few years failed as very few trees survived (存活).
But Wang Chengbang didn't give up. "After trying many different ways. I learned how to grow young trees in a better way," said Wang Chengbang. He also worked out new ways to save water. With his hard work, more and more trees survived. He finally planted more than 1. 5 million trees. Those green trees prevent desertification, make the air cleaner and protect people from the hot sun. Now, Korla is a model city in environmental protection.
Wang Chengbang is also successful in fighting cancer (癌症). In 2005, he had cancer and the doctor told him that he had only six months to live. However, he continued taking care of his trees rather than lying on the hospital bed. "Working is the best medicine. Planting trees helps to fight cancer," he often jokes.
Now at the age of 85, Wang Chengbang is still working.
