One day a tiger caught a fox (狐狸) in the forest. Before eating him up, the fox cried out, "You can't eat me. Don't you know that I'm the king of the forest? If you eat me up, all the other animals in the forest will be flying into a rage with you."
The tiger didn't believe him. "How can such a small animal be the king of the forest?" he asked himself.
"If you don't believe me," the fox said, "then take a walk with me in the forest. You can see if they are afraid of me."
The tiger thought it was a good idea, so the fox walked slowly in the forest and the tiger followed it. When the other animals saw them coming, they ran away as fast as they could.
"See for yourself, Mr. Tiger," he called out quickly. "All the animals are afraid of me."
"Yes, yes," the tiger said. "You are quite right." He then let the fox go.
Everyone gets angry. Many things may make you angry. Maybe your teacher gave you too much homework. Or maybe a friend borrowed your favorite video game and then broke it. You may get angry when something doesn't go your way. Maybe you get mad at yourself when your team loses an important game. Or maybe you become a road anger (路怒族) when a driver accidentally cuts in front of you. That makes you angry! You need to know what to do with your anger. Here are some things you can do when you feel angry:
* Talk to a friend you can trust.
* Count to 10.
* Get or give a hug.
* Take some exercise.
* Draw a picture of your anger.
* Play a video game.
* Run around the outside of the house five times as fast as you can.
* Sing along with the CD player.
* Think good thoughts (maybe about a fun vacation or your favorite sport).
*Take a bike ride, go skating, play basketball—do something active!
Never getting angry is impossible. But when you're angry, you can do something and it can make things better or worse. Don't let anger be the boss of you. Be in control of it!
If you have no good plans for your holidays, why not spend your time helping others? I think you can also learn a lot by giving help.
