People drive in all countries (国家), but the rules can be different (不同). So you need to realize the rules before driving in other countries.
In the US, people can learn to drive at the age of sixteen. If you want to know the age in most countries, the answer is eighteen. Not every country lets young people drive. Some countries have special (特殊的) rules. In Cyprus, when people are driving, they can't eat or drink.
Driving on the right or left side of the road is also different. In Britain and Malaysia, people drive on the left. But people must drive on the right in the US, France and Canada. One country can also have different driving rules. People in Hong Kong drive on the left. But drivers in other places of China drive on the right, like Shanghai, Xi'an and Guangzhou.
There are other different driving rules between countries like using mobile phones. In Japan, people can't use mobile phones when they are driving, even if (甚至) they don't use them with their hands. But in Australia, drivers can talk on their mobile phones if they do not use their hands.
People in Los Angeles love cars very much. The city is very big, and its public transportation (公共交通) is slow. So people drive everywhere. But now, a lot of people who like riding are trying to get people out of their cars but on bikes.
Devon says he has to be careful when he rides his bike on the streets. "A lot of people drive very fast, and it's very difficult to be careful." Although riding a bike to work can be dangerous, he likes to ride his bike to work. "It's much better than driving a car. For example, I don't have to think about where to park the car."
Roger drives to work. "You always have to look at the both sides because someone would rush (冲) across by bike. Or you can easily get into an accident."
If some people live and work near each other, they can ride to work together to make the bike ride relaxing. They call a "bike train". Anna helps make the group—L. A.Bike Trains. "You're in a big group. If you're afraid of riding alone, you can now ride with other people." Anna says that people would feel safer (更安全的) by riding together in a group.
As we know, children around the world have all kinds of ways to go to school. Mostly, they go to school by bus, by bike or by subway. However, in some places, children have to climb mountains or cross rivers to reach their schools. Let's have a look!
In Ladakh, India, children have to take a road covered in ice to go to school. The road is 100 km long and it usually takes children about four days. They and their parents have to go on this journey twice a year to reach their boarding school (寄宿学校).
In Tunkhel, Mongolia, children have to travel 10 km of icy roads to reach school. To get there faster, they have to ride a horse. On the snowy roads, they always have to be careful while riding. Also, they have to watch out for wild dogs on the way. Their school doesn't have enough rooms for classes, so children have classes in turn, younger ones in the morning and older ones in the afternoon.
The three sisters Julia, Yulissa and Kenya live in a village of Nicaragua. It often rains there. Every morning, they climb into their boat to row (划船) to school. They have to watch out for snakes hiding in the trees over the river. They also have to make sure that the boat does not fill up with water—because it has many holes and could sink (沉没) at any time.
Although in these places, it's dangerous and difficult for children to go to school, they don't give up. For them, it's the only way to have a better future.

Do you know anything about the Suspended Building of Tujia Nationality (土家族吊脚楼). There are many houses of this kind in Hubei. Usually they have two floors. On the first floor, there are no rooms for people because it is for pigs, cows, chickens, ducks, sheep, dogs and so on. Tujia people always put the firewood (木柴) on the first floor, too. And they use it to cook. People live on the second floor. The living room is in the center of the house. It is very big. It is for dinner and meeting friends. There are some bedrooms next to the living room. The kitchen and the bathroom are usually at the back of the house.
But now, many young people don't want to live there. Some of the Suspended Buildings are very old. The government (政府) are trying to keep them well, because they are the colorful culture (文化) of Tujia Nationality.
Here's a picture of my family. Today (be) the Dragon Boat Festival, we are all at home. My mom and grandmother (make) zongzi but my dad and grandfather are watching the boat races on TV. Do you know what I'm doing? I'm talking the phone to my cousin in Thailand. But there isn't a Dragon Boat Festival in Thailand, it's like any other day for my cousin. He misses his family and wishes (have) his mom's delicious zongzi. Now my cousin is studying in Thailand. He tells (I) that the elephant is one of Thailand's symbols. Elephants are smart animals. They (play) soccer or music. They can also draw very (good). People say that " elephant never forgets". They can also remember places with food and water. This helps them to live. But elephants are in great (dangerous) because people cut down many trees and kill them for their ivory. We must take action to save them. We share(分享) a blue sky together.
