This year, I'm pushing myself to try new things. Recently, I tried eating out alone. As a socially anxious (社交焦虑) person, I had always found this 1 . I had been afraid of sitting alone in public because it made me look different.
I walked into the 2 in my neighborhood—completely alone: no phone, no book, nothing to draw or write with. It was just me and my wallet.
3 food was an easy job. Since no one was with me, I took the time to read the menu 4 . I paid attention to how everything was made. "What better 5 is there than a classic burger and fries?" I thought to myself.
The moments after I ordered were the hardest part of the 6 . Waiting for my food with 7 to look at or read was really uncomfortable. I kept 8 about what the people around me were thinking. I looked around at everyone else and tried to 9 they were not watching me.
As I became more relaxed, I found out ways that brought me 10 in the experience. In such a busy world, we 11 take a second to rest and breathe deeply. Eating alone gave me a chance to do just that.
12 I was alone and not in a hurry, I ate slowly. My 13 was busy enjoying the food instead of having to find something to say. And I was able to eat what I wanted all while it was 14 and fresh.
When I began to eat alone at first, I thought I'd never want to do it again. Now that I've enjoyed the quiet time, I want to make it a regular (规律的) part of my life. It feels like a relaxing activity after a busy day. It 15 me to stop and live in the moment.

Why are you study habits different from those of your friends? Why do you seem to learn faster in some classes while more slowly in others? One reason you may not know is that people have different types. Scientists say there are three different learning types: Visual(视觉型), Auditory(听觉型), and Kinesthetic (动觉型).
Visual learners learn best by seeing. If you seem to easily remember information from pictures, graphs(图表), and videos, you are probably a visual learner. You're not good at copying down what the teacher says in class. Never mind. You can draw graphs or pictures instead, if you find that works better for you.
Auditory learners learn best by hearing. If you seem to easily remember things by hearing them, then you are probably an auditory learner. You must listen carefully while the teacher is speaking because it's the easiest way for you to learn . Sometimes you may find that taking notes tops you from listening carefully. After class, you can write down what you remember or borrow your friend's notes to copy.
Kinesthetic learners learn best by doing. If you seem to learn best by working with your hands, you are probably a kinesthetic learner. Taking notes by writing can make you pay close attention to information as you receive it. Of course, you can learn best by making full use of labs or other class activities.
Hope you learn better by knowing what your personal learning type is.
Yang Miao, a student studying nursing in Henan Province, feels lower than other people. "I'm the only one in my family studying in a vocational (职业的) school," she told Sixth Tone. "Most of my cousins are in universities. It's shameful for me." Like Yang, many people think vocational education is lower than universities. Many want this to change.
On May 1, 2022, the revised (修订的) Vocational Education Law of the People's Republic of China took effect. It is the first time the law has been revised since it was made in 1996. And the city of Shenzhen was listed as a pilot (试点的) city for national vocational education reform. It will spend 10 billion yuan by the end of 2022 to support vocational education.
The revised law calls for raising the social position and income (收入) of skilled workers. It says that vocational education is as significant as general education. Vocational school graduates should enjoy the same chances for jobs as graduates of regular schools at the same level. The revised law also encourages vocational schools to work together with industries.
At present, there are 11,300 vocational schools across China with 30.88 million students. This is the world's largest vocational education system, according to China Daily.
However, in some vocational schools, the teaching methods and school courses cannot meet the requirement to some high-level jobs. To deal with such problems, companies are encouraged to work with vocational schools in different ways, such as setting up trainee posts (实习岗位) for vocational students, taking part in writing textbooks, and training teachers of vocational schools.
ASIMO is a robot created by Honda in 2000. ASIMO is now the most human like robot in the world . It can jump, run, walk, climb stairs and even jump on one leg! It can also use its five fully funcitioning (功能 完善的) fingers to hold objects in its hands. ASIMO has cameras for eyes. It can also understand basic orders and is programmed to know American and British Sign Language, so it can communicate with deaf people.
Many people say that ASIMO is a fantastic creation because it can be used to help elderly and disabled people who cannot do basic important tasks, such as cleaning or washing up. In England, more than half of the people aged 75 and over live by themselves, and 5 million of them say that their main form of company (陪伴) comes from the television. The fact that elderly people are feeling lonely in a society which is built around communication through the Internet and social media is really sad.
Personally, although I think ASIMO is an unbelievable invention, I am upset by the fact that we are having to use a robot to deal with such a simple problem. It is a worrying thought that no one seems to care enough about the old people to make an effort to communicate with and be friendly to them. When it is finally released (发布) to be sold to the public. ASIMO will not be cheap, so not every lonely person will be able to afford one. So I really think that we must try our best not to depend on technology to do things that we can do by ourselves. Yes, technology is a wonderful thing and ASIMO is a mind-blowing creation, but we should not use its existence as an excuse not to make the effort to care for the old people.

What may come to your mind first when you think of London? Is it the Big Ben or the Tower Bridge? How about the London Eye? The London Eye has become a place of interest in London it was open in 2000. It is a of the modern Britain, and it is called London's Eiffel Tower.
At first, it was to celebrate the new year. So people thought it would only be during the year 2000 or perhaps just for a few years more. Nobody expected it to be so .
Today it is one of the UK's most popular places and is visited by 3.5 million people a year. The wheel has 32 boxes and each can carry about 25 people. Visitors can see the whole London from the top.
Every day, people invent new things. Some (invent) work hard for years to create something new, but some of the best inventions happen by accident.
Can you imagine a world without chocolate chip cookies? Back in 1930, Ruth Wakefield and her husband opened a restaurant in Massachusetts. It (call) the Toll House Inn. Ruth greeted the guests when they arrived. She also worked the cook. The restaurant could hold 30 guests. Ruth often had to rush to feed them all on time.
One day, Ruth was mixing up some chocolate cookies in the kitchen. The recipe(配方) said to melt squares of baking chocolate. The next step was (pour) the melted chocolate into the pale cookie batter(面糊) and stir(搅拌).
You have to melt chocolate slowly or it will burn. Ruth was in hurry. She decided to break the chocolate squares into little chunks (厚块) . Then she (throw) the chunks into the batter. After all, the cookies had to be baked in a hot oven. She figured that the chocolate would just melt into the rest of the batter. she took the cookies out of the oven, Ruth groaned (叹息). She could still see big chunks of chocolate. She could never serve these to her guests. Then, Ruth tasted the cookies. were delicious. Her guests agreed.
Ruth began buying lots of chocolate and (cut) it up. Then she asked the candy makers if they could make the chocolate much (easy) to break into small pieces. She wanted to make more of these delicious cookies, and maybe other people would start baking them at home.
Thanks to Ruth Wakefield, today you can find "Toll House" cookies in every grocery store, but none of them tastes as good as homemade chocolate chip cookies, hot from the oven.
