Have you been to the garden city—Singapore? It is in Southeast Asia, and more than three quarters of the population (人口) are Chinese. People speak both Chinese and English. Singapore is a wonderful place to
take a holiday.
In Singapore, we will find a lot of food from China. It is also a nice place to try new food, like Indian food, Japanese food and Western food.
Singapore is also famous for its night zoo. The animals only wake up at night. We can watch them in a more natural environment (环境) than a zoo in the dark.
The temperature (温度) is almost the same all year around in Singapore, so we can visit Singapore whenever we like.
Mum and Dad are going out today, and I'm free for a whole day. There's so much to do. It's time to make a plan.
A to-do list is like a note for you. Write down all the things you want to do or need to do. It helps you organize (规划) your day and makes sure you don't forget important things. |
◎ Make a to-do list
For my brain:
Do homework, read books
For fun:
Play video games, play with my friends
For my body:
Play outside, eat yummy fruits and have a healthy lunch
For my family:
Tidy up my room, call my grandparents
For my hobbies:
Practice the piano, do some painting
◎ Put your list in order
Now, let's think about what to do first. Put the important things at the top, like homework before playtime.
◎ Use a helpful timer
Do you often spend too much time on one thing? Set a timer for the time you want to spend on it. When you hear the alarm, it's time to finish up the thing.
① Tidy up my room ② Do my homework ③ Do some painting ④ Play video games
Li Kui, Lin Chong, Song Jiang ... These are the characters from the famous book Outlaws of the Marsh(《水浒传》). Every Spring Festival, they "come out" of the book and dance in the street. This is Yingge dance.
Yingge dance is a traditional Chinese folk (民间的) dance in Guangdong. It's a mix of dance, opera (戏剧) and kung fu. It gets ideas from Outlaws of the Marshand tells stories of the good fighting against the bad. Dancers wear opera-style makeup and hold short sticks in their hands. When walking and dancing, they hit their sticks together. With fast beating drums and the dancers' cool moves, the dance rocks the streets and makes people feel powerful (有力的). In Guangdong, young and old people all like the dance. Female (女子) Yingge dance starts after the male (男子) dance. It gets ideas from Mu Guiying and Hua Mulan.
