Dear diary,
Mom and Dad found a new flat(公寓) today. Now that we are all teenagers, our flat is too small. Sally and I share(共享)a room, and Eric's room is really small. Our living room is also quite small and it's a little dark. The windows are too small and there is no balcony(阳台). Our bathroom is big, but it's really old. So my parents decided to find a new flat for us.
The new flat is much bigger. It has four bedrooms, so Sally and I can have our own rooms. Eric's room is large and it has a balcony. He's so happy. Mom and dad's room also has a balcony. There are two bathrooms that are both beautiful and modern. And the living room is excellent. It has two big windows, so it is nice and light. It's in Eastgardens —about five kilometers from here. It's closer to our schools, so that's great. Dad will have to travel a little farther to work, but he doesn't mind(介意).
Here's the best thing. There's a swimming pool. Everyone who lives there shares it. I can't believe(相信)it. I can swim every day after school. I can't wait to ask all my classmates to have a pool party. I am really excited about that.

① Arat Montoya, 36, lives in West Linn, a city in the US. He is from a family of bakers. But he doesn't like making bread. When his father asked him to follow the family tradition(传统), Montoya said,"I'm sorry, Dad. I love dogs."he said.
② Montoya spent a few years working at a dog club. After the club closed, Montoya started to offer (提供) a doggie day careservice(服务). He has a" Doggie School Bus"and he works as the driver. The bus runs five days a week and the service is $30 per(每一)dog each day.
③ Montoya's service is pretty nice. Every morning at about 7 a. m., he drives the school bus to the owners'(主人) houses to pick up the dogs and takes them to"school"— a farm. The dogs are full of excitement because"go to school"means they can play all day. They can run around and play with each otherat"school". When "school" finishes, Montoya takes the dogs back home. He also sends some videos and pictures to show the dogs'"school "life to the dogs'owners.
④ It shows that the doggie day care service is a great business(生意) idea. Montoya loves taking care of those dogs. And the dogs love going to"school". The most important is that the dogs'owners speak highly of Montoya and his business. All of them are happy about this doggie day care service.
⑤ Now, more than 300 owners ask Montoya to take care of their dogs."I'm the happiest man in the world,"Montoya said."Doing what 1 like truly makes me happy."
In Spain, children and their families are riding bikes to school together in large groups(群). It is called "bicibús" or bikebus. In Barcelona, it started recently with only five children and grew quickly to hundreds of riders.
This fall, children in Eixample, Barcelona have a new way to get to school on Fridays — they ride their bikes. In September, a group of five children started biking to school with their parents on Fridays. Soon the group grew to 150 or more. The bike bus starts around 8:25 every Friday morning. The road it will follow is always posted before starting, so everyone knows where to join.
The bicibús doesn't ride in bike lanes(道) or on sidewalks. It takes over all the street. The commute (往返) of these bikers takes about 25 minutes. And because more and more cycling and skating kids join in it, the police are helping stop traffic(车辆) by riding in front of the bicibú s and behind it. Parents are happy because that means their children will get to school safely(安全).
With music playing and bike bells (铃声) ringing, the bicibús feels like a party."The best part of thebicibús is that we ride along and pick up our friends and we ride together,"nine-year-old Maria Pitarc h says.
Before the bicibús program(项目), it wasn't safe for kids in Eixample to go to school by bike. The bike lanes are not wide and the traffic is busy. Parents hope that the bicibús program will change people's ideas about getting around. Biking, they say, is a great way of exercise. It's also better for our nature.
Once, there was a little boy who became very ill. He had to spend all day in bed, because he couldn't move at all. Other children were not allowed(允许) to come near him, so he felt lonely(孤独) and blue.
There wasn't much he could do but look out of the window. Time went by, and his feeling of loneliness just grew. Until one day he saw a st range shape(奇怪的形状) in the window. It was a penguin(企鹅) eating a sausage sandwich. The penguin got in through the open window, said "good afternoon" to the boy, turned around, and left quickly.
Of course, the boy was very surprised. He tried to work out what had happened(发生), but he couldn't.Then the next day outside his window he saw a monkey busy blowing up a balloon(气球). At first, the boy asked himself what that could be. But after a few minutes, as more and more crazy-looking animals appeared(出现) out the window, he couldn't help laughing and found it hard to stop.
The little boy didn't tell anyone about this because he thought no one would believe him. But those strange animals put happiness back in his body. It was really good for his health. Soon he could go back to.school again.
There he got to talk to his friends, and told them all the strange shapes he saw. When he was talking to his best friend, he saw something coming out of his friend's school bag. The boy asked his friend what it was, and his friend had to show him what was in the bag.
Inside the bag, there were all the fancy- dress(化妆服) suits. The boy knew who had tried to make him happy.
·From that day on, the little boy always did his best to make sure that no one felt sad and lonely.
Bring It On

There are a lot of films about teenagers at high school. Bring It On is one of the best I've seen. For example, it's funny, clever and sometimes sad. The three main characters(角色), Leila,Jessie and Brodie are interesting and we follow their lives closely in the film.
It covers(涉及) subjects like bullying(欺凌) and friendship well. When the three girlsstop being friends, we feel sad for them. Of course, the girls become friends again and thereis a happy ending. They come back together to stop another girl, Becky, from bullying their friend,Stephen. There is a very funny part when Brodie and Stephen try ice-skating for the first time. Leila and Jessie laugh so much that they can't stand up.
I gave this film 5 stars.
You can see Bring It On at the Children's Film Festival on Sunday 5 October at Movie house.
A. I laughed a lot, too!
B. There's a lot to like about this film.
C. They had a really strong friendship before.
D. So I think some students may not like it.
E. It shows high school as a difficult place for many students.
F. I think most high school students will also give a good comment(评价) on it.
