I am Bill. When I was young, I was very shy. I didn't like making friends with others. My parents encouraged （鼓励） me and signed me up （给我报名） for activities. At first, I didn't want to go because I was nervous （紧张的）.
"Come on, Bill! Have a try," my dad said. "You will have fun!"
"I don't know anyone there," I answered. "You'll make friends," my mum said to me. "Don't be shy!"
With their support, I went to sports clubs, art classes, and science workshops （工作室）. At first, I was afraid, but soon I began to like it. I made many new friends.
"Hi, I'm Tom. Do you want to play football with me?" a boy asked.
"Yes!" I said.
Now, I like making friends and playing with them. I am very happy.
