Lin Chong （林冲），Li Kui, Song Jiang .. These are popular characters （人物） from the classic novel Outlaws of the Marsh. Every spring Festival, they "come out" of the novel and dance in the street. This is Yingge dance.
Yingge dance is a traditional Chinese folk dance in Guangdong. It is a mix （综合） of dance, opera and kung fu. It gets ideas from Outlaws of the Marsh and tells stories of good beating evil （邪恶）. People also call it the warrior's （勇士） dance. Dancers wear beautiful clothes and hold short sticks in their hands. While walking and dancing, they hit the sticks together. With the drums and the dancers' cool moves, the dance rocks the streets and everyone wants to dance together.
