Having good manners(举止) is an important part of life. You know that you should never shout in public. When you use social media(媒体) apps, like WeChat and Sina Weibo, you must also remember to mind your manners.
Just like in real life, the key to keeping good manners online is to be thoughtful. But sometimes, people forget this. One of my friends likes to send really long voice messages on WeChat. It is difficult to keep up with all his messages and remember everything. I think this is a bit bad!
There are many things that you shouldn't do on social media. Take a look and remember to do your best to be polite(有礼貌的).
·Don't share your friends' information with strangers. Ask your friend first before sharing.
·Don't add someone new to your group chat without asking the other members. They might not want new people to join the group.
·If you use English, don't use all caps. IF YOU TYPE LIKE THIS, IT LOOKS LIKE YOU'RE SHOUTING. DON'T DO IT.
It was a cold winter morning. My 12-year-old granddaughter, Jayne, sent me messages on the phone every hour during her six-hour drive to our house.
"Grandma, can you put some snow in the fridge (冰箱)? That way, I can feel snow when I get there," she wrote. Jayne lives in the south of Georgia, the US with her parents, so she never saw snow before.
"Yes, I will," I wrote. "There is still some snow on the ground in the yard." And I sent her a few photos of it. However, the weather report brought me bad news. It said the weather would be sunny at noon. This made me feel concerned.
In the afternoon, they finally arrived. Jayne got out of the car first. She ran into the yard and put her hands in the snow. She looked so excited. It was great that the sun didn't come out that day.
"Grandma, the weather is so cold, but I enjoy playing with snow," Jayne said. Then she started to build a snowman. She made two large snowballs first. They were the head and the body. It looked nice. Jayne kept playing outside until her hands got wet and cold. Watching Jayne playing in the snow made me feel warm and thankful.
I still remember the lovely cold day. Small things in our lives can also make us happy.
Last Sunday morning, I had a yard sale with my sister. We set up a long table in the yard and placed many old things on it. She was ill but her parents didn't have enough money to take her to hospital.
Maybe because of our kindness, our sale went very well. He looked at many things and finally picked a necklace (项链). "How much is this?" he asked. "Twenty," I answered.
Then he asked us, "Could I have it for 15 yuan? This is all I have." We wondered why the boy wanted to buy a necklace. "Tomorrow is my mother's birthday. I want to give this nice necklace to her as a gift. At the same time, I can also do something for the student who needs help. "
My sister and I were both moved (感动) by him. So we decided to let the boy buy it for 15 yuan. After saying thanks to us, he went away with the necklace happily.
A. And we were happy, too. B. Then, a boy came to our sale. C. He took out some money and counted. D. We wanted to raise some money for a student in our school. E. The necklace was so beautiful that she couldn't move her eyes. |

Scientists say there (be) now fewer than 2,000 pandas living in the forests. Another 300 or so live in zoos or research centers China and other countries. Pandas do not have many (baby), maybe only one every two years. The babies often die from illnesses and do not live very long. Adult pandas spend more than 12 hours day eating about 10 kilos of bamboo. Many years ago, there are a lot more forests and pandas in China, but then humans started to cut down (this) forests. As the forests become smaller other human activities cause more problems, pandas cannot find enough to eat.
An education program in Chengdu (teach) children about pandas and other endangered wild animals. They send people to schools to tell children about the (important) of saving these animals. And the Chinese government is trying hard to help save the pandas. Scientists are doing research (understand) the habits of pandas. We all hope that there will be a lot (many) pandas in the future.
Have you ever been to Thailand(泰国)? It is a country in Southeast Asia. I've been in Thailand for a few days with my parents. We are here for a holiday.
Now we are staying in Bangkok. It is the capital of Thailand and it is a very interesting place to visit. Yesterday we visited some places of interest in the city. They were great!①今天早上,我们去购物。Bangkok was a wonderful place to shop for jewelry(珠宝)and clothes. My mother bought some beautiful dresses. My father and I bought some fashionable T-shirts.
Thailand is called "Land of Smiles" because people here are very friendly. And it's true! When we eat in the restaurants in Bangkok, the waiters are really nice and they are always smiling.②Thai food is delicious, but it is a little spicy(辛辣的)for me. You can also get Chinese food here because a lot of Chinese people came to live in Bangkok many years ago. Chinese food is very good, and it isn't as spicy as Thai food. American food can also be found in Bangkok.
