It seems that some animals can know when an earthquake （地震）will come. This can be important, because earthquakes can kill people. If animals can predict the earthquake, they may help save people' s lives. Some animals make a lot of noise before an earthquake. If dogs are usually quiet， they will bar k （吠叫） loudly before an earthquake. And you can see some strange things on other animals. Mice leave their homes and run away. Fish jump out of the water.
In Italy, lots of cats ran down the streets together. Only a few hours later, an earthquake came.
In the US, a man had some small pet frogs in his house. One Sunday night, the frogs kept jump ing around and made loud noise. This woke up the man. That night, again it was an earthquake and luckily, the man was saved.
Right now, there is no sure way to know when an earthquake is coming. But scientists thi nk that watching animal behavior（行为）may help.
As a schoolgirl, I'm not beautiful. I don't have big eyes, and I'm not tall, either.T here is a scar（疤痕） on my face． It makes me so sad． I am to talk to others． I don＇t think my classmates like me. But my father often encourages（鼓励）me. Here＇s what he says，

July 25th Friday Sunny
I started the summer camp two days ago. I met some of my old friends here. We we re so happy to see each other. There are lots of things to do here. We can play badmi nton, footbal and volleyball. We can go swimming in the river. The water is not deep but very clear. Yesterday we went down the river and had a 2-hour boat trip. Then we had lunch near the river. Our guide, Jack,made a fire. We sang and played games arou nd the fire happily. Then we went back to the camp by car. It was really an exciting day. Tomorrow we'll visit a car museum about 20 kilometers awa y from here. We will take a bus there. I heard there were so many old cars there. I can't wai t to see them.
But there are some rules we have to follow here. We have to go to bed at 10:00, make our beds every morning after getting up. Also we must help in the kitchen, but luckily we don't need to do the dishes. It is such a joyful（快乐的）camp，I enjoy it so much！
