Many students meet many  of danger in summer vacations. So it's important  all of us to know how to keep safe. 

We should follow the traffic rules whenever we cross the road. Never use the phones at the  . Also, we can go swimming in a swimming pool only  our parents go with us. We mustn't go to a river to swim! What's more, we shouldn't go out with friends without  our parents about it. 

In short, if we are in danger, remember to ask our parents or teachers for help. 

A few years ago, my family grew from two people to four people in one day. On that day my 1 and I were born (出生) . Mom and Dad d started buying two of everything. Looking after us was not easy, but they said we were 2 than twice the fun of one baby. They also said we gave back more than 3 the love of one baby.

Soccer Aid (援助) for UNICEF

Every day we hear about war. Wherever it is and whoever is fighting, the worst affected are always children. 

This year, UNICEF (联合国儿童基金会) is working in 18 war areas around the world. 

They give support (支持) to the children, care for them, and help them believe that there is a way through this. 

The happiness of childhood and the horror (恐惧) of war should never go hand in hand! But right now, 1 in 5 children around the world are affected by war.

UNICEF wants to help them all, without nights like Soccer Aid.

I first wanted pet dogs when I was 10 years old. One day, I told my dad that I wanted two hounds (猎犬) . But my dad said we didn't have money to buy those kinds of dogs. And my mom also told me that I was too young to keep hounds. 

As the days passed, my need for dogs grew. I began to dream dogs in the night. I couldn't sleep well so I couldn't eat well, either. My mom noticed this and talked to my dad. I heard their talk from another room. At first, it made me feel pretty good because they began thinking about the problem. But then, I didn't feel good. I knew my parents were poor and didn't have any extra (额外的) money. I felt sorry for them and myself. 

Just when I gave up all hope, I saw an ad (广告) . It read, "Hound babies for sale—$25 each." I decided to save money to buy the dogs myself. All through that summer I worked like a horse. I caught fish in the river. I picked apples on the farm. My hands hurt so hard. 

Little by little, I earned $50! I counted it over and over again. Then I asked my dad to order the dogs at once. I finally had my own hounds. 

Red is the color of China. Among all the colors, red is the easiest one to see in China. 

People call it "China Red". Chinese people love the color red because it doesn't only make people excited. 

No other country in the world has ever used a color in the way that China uses red. In the past, red meant dignity (尊严) and mystery (神秘) in Chinese culture. 

 It is easy to find red-colored things in China. We can say that "China Red" is an everlasting (永恒的) theme for China.  For example, the walls of ancient (古代的) palaces, the national flag, Chinese knots (结) , lanterns, and even tanghulu are al red. 

All in all, in Chinese culture,  It stands for luck, health, happiness, peace, wealth and much more. It carries the ancient history and culture of the Chinese nation.  

Little Free Libraries are small boxes with books inside for people to borrow. They started in the US in 2009 and soon became popular in the world. They are a special part of communities (社区) . Not long ago, in Australia, a girl and her mother built a "little free plant library" —a free plant stand (架) to bring happiness to their community. 

Rachel and her mother Vicky noticed that people always looked sad these years. "So what can we do to put a smile on people's faces? "Rachel thought. As she often helps her father in the garden (花园) , Rachel is good at growing plants. Looking at her flowers in the garden, she came up with the idea for a plant stand (台) . "Gardening is a natural way to help people relax," Rachel said. 

With the help of her mother, Rachel built a tall stand and painted pictures on it. They put many kinds of plants on it. The stand invited people with the words, "Need a plant? Take a plant. Have a plant? Leave a plant." People could come to take a plant home or leave a plant for people in need. 

The stand has now become a warm space for people in the community to meet and talk. Even though it takes Rachel and her mother a lot of time to grow the plants and put them on the stand, they are happy to see these lovely people and their smiles.
