"What is the meaning of life?" It is a question that I have asked myself many times over the years. Thebest 1 I ever got was"The meaning of life is to give life meaning. "
When I was a young boy, I gave my life meaning by 2 playing, running, swimming laughing, and riding my bike. When I went to school, I gave my life meaning by studying hard, getting good 3 and trying to make my mom and dad 4 . In college, I found meaning by deciding what to study and 5 for my dream job in the future. When I was working as a(n)6 ,I knew meaning by helping young kids to get new ideas and old wisdom(智慧). When I got married, I found meaning by protecting, helping and 7 my family. And I learned 8 important from love, patience, and joy.
9 we meet many problems in our life, all we have to do is to enjoy and love things in life. I keep learning how to love 10 and people around me in my life these years. I always have love in my heart. Love does give life meaning and love does make life worth living.
The Water Festival is the New Year in the Dai calendar, It usually takes place in mid-April and lasts three to seven days. The Water Festival is celebrated by over 1. 3 milion Dai people living in China, mainly in Yunnan's Xishuangbanna and Dehong.
There are many kinds of activities during the festival, such as exciting water splashing ( 泼 水 ) , amazing dance and music performances and some other traditional activities. During these days, people dress up in traditional clothes and splash water on anyone passing by. It means washing away the unhappiness and the bad luck during the last year, so the good things will be around. The more water people get, the more luck they will get in the coming year.
Besides, people of all ages get together in the village square, where men, women and children dance in a circle to the beat of the elephant-foot drums (象脚鼓). The Dai elephant-foot drum dance is not only a way for the Dai people to express their joy, but also a reflection(反映) of their village culture. In the evening, thousands of people light up sky lanterns by Lancang River. It is a traditional folk activity and is regarded as a way for people to send their best wishes.
Nowadays, as more and more tourists join in this exciting festival, it has become a great chance to show Dai water culture as well as its music and dance culture.
Whenever the sun dropped and the blue sky came up, my father and I used to climb the mountain near my house. Walking together, my father and I used to have a lot of conversations through which I learned lessons from his experiences. He always told me,"You should have goals like climbing the mountain. "Without the mountain-climbing that we both enjoyed, we couldn't have enough time to spend together because my father was very busy. I really got a lot from mountain-climbing. It gave me time to talk with my father and to be in deep thought as well as develop my patience(耐力).
Once we climbed a very high mountain. It was so challenging for me because I was only ten years old. During the first few hours of climbing, I enjoyed the flowers and trees, and the birds'singing, but as time passed, I got a pain in both of my legs. I wanted to quit climbing., but my father said to me," You can always see a beautiful sky at the top of the mountain, but you can't see it before you reach the top. Only there can you see all of the nice things, which is just like your life."
At that time, I was too young to understand his words. But later after that, I got new hope and confidence. I found myself standing at the top of the mountain, and the sky was as clear as crystal(水晶).
Who is the greatest teacher in Chinese history? Many people would think of Confucius, whose birthday was September 28. Although he lived over 2,000 years ago, people still remember and respect him for his contribution(贡献)to the education today.
Confucius lived in the Kingdom of Lu, which lies in Shandong Province. He lived during the Spring and Autumn Period. He had a hard childhood. His father died when he was only 3. His mother brought him up. As a child, he had to work to help his mother, but young Confucius didn't give up studying. He visited many famous teachers and learned music, history, poetry and sports.
Later, he became a teacher and started the first public school in Chinese history. At that time only children from noble families could go to school, but Confucius believed everyone should go to school if they wanted to learn. He had about 3,000 students in his lifetime
Today, people still follow Confucius'lessons. He told us that we all have something worthy to be learned. "When I am with three people, one of them must be better than me in some areas. I choose theil good qualities and follow them
He also taught us that thinking is very important in study. " All study but no thinking makes people puzzled (困惑的). All thinking but no study makes people lazy
Confucius is not only a great teacher, but also a famous thinker with wise thoughts about the world and society. His most important teachings are about kindness and good manners. "A person should be
strict with himself. but be kind to others. "he said

Qingming Festival is a traditional Chinese festival for family to pay respect( 尊 敬 )to theii ancestors( 祖 先 ) . People visit their ancestors'grave sites and offer food, drinks and flowers. There are some Chinese poems showing Chinese history and culture through ancient expressions. Here we look at one of the classic poems in the history of Chinese literature:
A drizzling rain falls like tears on the Mourning Day;
The mourner's heart is going to break on his way.
Where can a wineshop be found to drown his sad hours?
A cowherd points to a cot amid apricot flowers.
In China, around the time of Qingming Festival, there is more rain. The poet is traveling far away from home on these rainy days. The rain and lonely walks lead to the separation of the soul (灵魂)and body, which adds a sad feeling to this poem. The writer, Du Mu describes a rainy scene in a village in the first two lines. Then in the last two lines, the poet wants to find a place to take a rest, drink some wine(酒) and get away from the sad feeling. Where can I find a good tavern? In the last line, a cowherd points to a direction (方向),which describes two people looking far ahead on the rainy day.
In this poem, Du Mu presents a village with apricot flowers around as the direction of the tavern.
He doesn't describe its feature on a rainy day but leaves it to the readers'imagination.
Qingming is not only a sad festival, but can also be a happy time for people to enjoy the spring and get closer to nature in an outing. Trees are green and flowers are blooming, so it's a good time to be outside.
